The caller ID showed up as unknown. They left a message for a relative, saying that they are process servers from DeSoto County, with a fake case number, and asked to be called back at the number above. This is a common scam.

Called regards about a DeSoto County

A restricted number called saying they would be serving papers  gave me a case number and told me to call the 888-420-5475 number to speak with someone.  They proceeded to tell me that I owed 1247 on a bank account and asked for immediate payment or I would be sued and would be responsible for court costs and lawyer fees etc.. once told I had no money they got angry said they will be serving immediate garnishment of wage papers effective immediately. And hung up on me

Just received a message from an unknown number someone named Samantha said i had paperwork to be served and provided me with a phone number of 888.420.5475 to call back.  I called and was immediately identified, by another name and told I would be transferred.  When I asked Samantha what company she was calling from she identified Katz Legal Service.  When I asked where they were located she said all across the country,  When I asked what city I was in she said it was confidential information and the envelope they held with my name was sealed.  When I asked who I needed to speak to - she said someone at that number can give you more information. I believe this to be fraud as she was not able to answer any of the questions I had.  All she said was for me to call them and that perhaps I was not the intended recipient as my last name is a common last name, but that they would be able to assist further.

Same thing I just received on my work phone! Exact same thing! How did they know my work number :-(

I  received a message from a woman said She  had paperwork to be served on me and gave with a phone number of 888.420.5475 to find out what it was about.  I called, and was told I had an old account that was from 2009 left with an overdraft of 195.00 and now with fees and such it is 1388.00. Said they are  Katz Legal Service sent to collect.  I immediately contacted a friend who works at that place I was supposed to have an old account with and was told this is a scam and do not give them anything!  I told the man I would not give him anything and he said he will be serving papers on me before the end of day.
I think it's a total scam!

They called my work! I think that is one reason I was partly convinced at the beginning

SAME! type of call gave a person's name (adult son living in a different city for years!) ... regarding papers to be served, fake case number and to return call to 888-420-5475 ... SCAM !!! BE CAREFUL!
... I did not return the call ... so I did not get a company name or info ...

Katz Legal called my cell, my work and my dad's cell!  Said that I owed $1198 to Wells Fargo from 2006
