I received an email from Amazon saying I made a purchase over 6000.00.
The email said to call the number listed 888-434-8649
I called the number and gave the person the order purchase number, was placed on hold then hung up on. I attempted to call back several times and no one answered.

Rec'd an email that said someone used my card and had a $6000+. I called the 1-888 number and a man with a heavy accent began telling me that when he did the search on the order number he found 6 other orders from 6 other states that was using my card. It began to sod fishy when he wanted to check and confirm who I was via some sort of Google accounting. I hung up. Checked amazon and there were no orders ( I had just gotten back from a week vacation out of state and truly thought this was real). That man called backed and started on me again and went on and no. I asked him how do I know that HE is not the scammer....and he tried to re-assure me he was not....I hung up again and he did not call back.

I received the same email from Amazon about purchases ordered.  I called the 888 number, hung up on twice, finally man picked up phone, foreign voice, the same voice that calls from other phone numbers and companies - fraud.  He asked for my name, I did not give it to him, offered to give him order #, but he would not accept it.  I told him the police can get involved if he do not stop emailing me about fraud orders.  He got the name correct, but address is in Delaware.  They have called my phone about orders before, they do not have your bank account number, they will try to get you to give them information.  My bank is too smart for this anyway - fake Amazon fools!

Oh, I know!  They have these teeny, tiny cops in the email fraud department who will hop onto the internet and follow the electrons back to their originating source.  Once there they will grow into man sized form and take the culprit into custody.  They will all then shrink down and follow the electrons back to the station house where they will formally charge the culprit and put them in jail for the rest of eternity.

Received similar emails as others. I called the 1-888 number and the man had a heavy accent. I asked him who he worked for and he said Amazon. He has a lot of information on me that should be private - old bankcards, old addresses. Asked me to go get a Google Security Code at a local store, which he said I would have to buy a Google Play Store card for $200 to get the security code. I hung up. He goes by "Max" and left a number to call him back (206) 629-6870
