If TD was calling, it would say TD in the caller ID.  This is what tipped me off.  I got a call from 1-888-445-9882.  She tried to get me to confirm my date of birth with her.
I said "The problem is you don't say TD on my caller ID, so I don't want to release any of my information to you."
She responded "That's understandable.  I'll give you the number to call"
I said "I'll just call TD Easy Line"
She responded "This is a head office matter.  I'm going to give you the number to call because it's important."
I said "What's this about?" she kept repeating herself until I said I had a pen and paper handy.  She then gave me 1-888-453-0334 and even managed to give me a case #.

This is scam!
1. TD will always call with caller ID
2. If you're uncomfortable, you can always hang up and call TD EasyLine and they can transfer you from there.
3. They would never say it's a "Head office matter."  That phrasing tipped me off.  I'm nowhere near that important.
4. I would have received something in the mail from TD if they were struggling to get ahold of me.
5. If it was urgent, they would be able to say part of the reason.

I just got a call today.   Unfortunately I fell for some of their questions, didn't give any banking info  but something started not to make sense so just cut the call short.

This is definitely a scam call. I don't know how they got my name and number.

Do NOT give them any information!.

They called my place of employment asking for me.  They left their phone number and a red number.  I called back and there was a pre-recorded msg claiming to be TD bank with "please stay on the line all our agents are busy" followed by music.  Anyhow long story short I called the 1 800 number on the back of my TD bank and asked about this number and the agent had told me this is a scam.  It is flagged as a scam # from somewhere in the U.S. If anyone claims to be from any reputable establishment please hang up and do the same as I did.  Either go to the branch itself or call the number on the back of your card.  It still baffles me on how they had my name and place of employment.

I spoke with actual TD. Do not answer this number and refer to TD for phishing. This is a scam, yes they have a considerable amount of information on you but they don't have enough, if you call back they will attempt to get more out of you so they can ACTUALLY SCAM YOU. Please report this number to TD! I have!

- got a  similar    "  mysterious"   call   today .  10:37am   ( EDT  )......1ST   TIME  from this particular ,   and   no  doubt    faked  #  !   ANYWAY..........display  said   "    unknown  name"   ,   "  unknown  ID "........

- female  with a  HEAVY   INDIAN  accent , tried  to   muddle  through  the  english  language  with   great  failure  !  only  listened  to a  few   seconds  of  this   ridiculous  message  that  could  NOT  be  understood  !!!

SCAM  ALERT  !

They have called us twice but the Caller ID does not have "TD Bank" on it - I called the Easy Web Line and there was no record of Customer Service trying to get hold of me.
ITS A SCAM - do not give any details - and if possible - do not answer the call.

We got a call from but did not answer it because I thought it was a scam as only a phone number appeared on my caller ID.  I deleted it but afterwards realized the person (lady) had left a message on my machine. She was trying to contact (name similar to mine - wrong first name, same last name). She said her name was Sherry and she was from TD. She asked us to call this number. She also gave a number (case number?) to use for identification.  I'm glad I checked 411 and then tried a google search on the actual number and found this site. I'm deleting the number and message.

This is a scam!! Agree with lady aboves comments..getting way too many scam calls
