First, they called my mother, while she was at work, and gave her the supposed information I needed when I called them back. When I did, the name she was given was not the person I spoke with. A guy proceeds to tell me Wells Fargo, since they bought Wachovia, is suing me for an overdrawn account. I told him I found it funny they didn't reach out to me before they decided to sue me. He claims they sent a letter to an address I haven't lived at for 15 years. Still confused I asked why it never showed up on my credit and he claims the banks don't report to them. He said it was 1,198.22 but that included additional fees they tacked on after the account was closed. I told him they could kiss my [***] and I wasn't paying it. He then emails me a letter dated for the 5th of September, that I never recieved, and tells me to call a number and to use the information on there to verify my account. I knew something was off so I called Wells Fargo and she confirmed my suspicions. Don't pay these people any of your hard earned money!!!!

They just tried to do the same to me today saying I owed US Bank close to $2000 and US Bank knew nothing of it, called back and requested legal documentation and they hung up on me, most definitely a scam, they are all over the internet as scams

Called to collect a debt from 11 years ago.  Claimed that since it was a checking account it didnt fall under the statue of limitations.  Save your money and tell them to [***].

I almost got taken by them! Swaford said I had a $2700 debt from Wells Fargo from 2008. At the time I was going through a divorce so I thought it was real. Did the whole payment plan set up. Then I started to think, I never saw this debt on my credit report, EVER! Did my research and sure enough... it’s a SCAM! They just left me a message on my voicemail saying they will contact my employers and put a warrant for my arrest!

Same thing they are trying to say we owe Wells Fargo 3242.00 from 10 yrs ago these people are straight idiots and it's a Scam my husband told them to kiss his A.. Don't fall for it pure SCAM !!!!!!!

They called my sister , father, aunt and uncle before contacting me. I called them they threatend and demanded payment yet would not provide me with paperwork to support this claim. This is completely a lie. Scary tactics with no follow through. Sad we live in a world where this kind of scam can go on

Apparently, I had a voice mail that I never checked. I decided to check it and bam.... total SPAM. How do I know? Let's just say it was addressed to someone I absolutely do not know and that person somehow managed to use my number as an emergency contact.

Complete fraud. If you want to have some fun, ask for their mailing address. They freak out. They will call you back and try to make it like you called them and made a bomb threat. Any legittimate company will give you a mailing address. They cannot file a lawsuit without a mailing address. Any legitiamte company must have a legitimate mailing address or the government will not allow them to stay in business. All corporations must have a legitiamte mailing address. These crooks give you a UPS store Box.

Ask for a mailing adress and send them a request for verification. They cannot collect a debt unless it is verified. They won't give you a mailing adress, priving they are crook scammers.

Called every person in my family stating that they were proceeding with fililng a lawsuit against me, and will proceed with or without my knowledge. I called them back, they claimed I owed money from an overdraft fee from 2006 from Bank Of America and tried to get my CC info to "pay it all off and be done with it." She kept pushing for my CC number, luckily I didn't give it her. Told her I'd call her back and when I did, it went directly to a non business/non professional VM. Then I googled the number and found this forum. SCAMMMMMM
