Called me claiming that he is from Bank of America and asked for Name and Social security number.

I am in the application process for a Bank of America credit card and got a call from someone who said call them back at: 888-503-6091.

Got a call from them and I called back. they picked up right away claiming to be from the bank of america and asked for my name and social security number regarding a new credit card app. i said i didn't feel comfortable giving my SSN over the phone and the man claimed "this is a secure phone line" I hung up.

Got a call. No message left.

This is a legitimate number for Bank of America when you apply or are applying for a card.  If no message is left, it's because they'll wait to actually be able to speak with the person who's made an application with them.

It's a BOA credit card customer service number.....

Received a call asking for social security number saying they were from Bank of America where we have an application for a credit card. Told him we wouldn't give that information out over the phone so he said he'd send me a form to fill out. We received the form with all of hubbies credit information on it from Expedia. Now if they didn't have the social security how did they pull that up? We're not continuing with the credit card request!
