While I was on my computer, a pop-up hollered that my computer was infected and I would need to call this number immediately. I think it is a scam to trick you into giving money.

Close - it is a SCAM to get remote access to your computer so they can install maleate.  NEVER allow remote access to a cold caller.  These CROOKS are NOT from Microsoft.

This is the 3rd time that I've received this pop up. It states that my computer has been infected with a virus and needs immediate attention. It continuously tells you that data is at high risk, and you must call the "microsoft" # to fix the problem. It warns not to turn off the pc, and it doesn't allow you to go back. The only way to get rid of it is to turn off the pc.
