It is Wal-mart credit services. They called me to confirm an application.

Called to confirm a credit application

Call to say Wal-mart credit card was being use. Debt unpaid. from 1800-641-4526. Told to call Fraud Dept at this #.1888518-6278
Turned out to be wrong person, but had my home phone #.  Wasn't me..never had a Wal-Mart credit card.

Called to "verify application for credit at WalMart".  No application for credit at WalMart was ever made.  Person refused to validate information.  Am investigating; believe may be a phishing attempt at identity theft.

Got a call from 888-518-6278 from "Amy" at "WalMart credit services" asking me to call back to finish credit application that I never started. Called the real credit services from WalMart and told them to stop that credit application since I didn't request that credit card.

Man claiming to be from "synchrony bank" wanting to confirm credit card application, which appears to be a phishing attempt. Call actually came from another number with an Arizona area code. This is a scam!

It's a scam, the 800 number actually has the last 4 of the real Wal Mart credit card center, but this fraud. Do Not Call Back!

Call claiming to be from Walmart to confirm an application.  I've never submitted an application for a card.

Got an alert from AllClear about a Walmart application, they called "synchrony bank" at this number who gave confirmed a ccard was opened in my name.  Seems genuine to me (the number not the fraudulent application).

Got call from 937-534-2085 asking me to call back at 888-518-6278 to finish my Wal-Mart MasterCard application. I never applied.

I received the same message from a man ,went to my old messages since I don,t answer unknown calls. I just checked my credit report and saw that there was a credit card opened in my name from Walmart. I never applied. Contacted the  fraud dept. Luckily there was not a charge made on it. It was approved for 2,000 $ !!!!!!!

You are correct!  The caller wanted  me to call back within 72 hours to verify the application. Scam!

Its just proves that a card was being processed/ issued  in your name fraudulently. . I found out accidentally by checking my credit report !

I got the call, too. When I checked my credit report, there were 2 attempts for a Walmart card that I did not do. It's definitely not a scam. I even got Lifelock invoved and they confirmed it the company and phone number that called.

This is a real number (888-518-6278) to report fraud to Synchrony Bank, which handles credit card for multiple businesses (which includes Walmart) . I did a web search and found it listed on the Walmart corpoarate page: http://corporate.walmart.com/contact-us/financial-help-center. Turns out someone was indeed trying to open an account under my name.

I received a letter at my home address saying my Walmart Mastercard was restricted until they can confirm no fraud was occurring.  I do not now, nor have I ever applied for or had a Walmart card.  When I called 888–518-6278, I got a recording.  The recording said to enter card number, which was not on the letter.  I pressed “0” and was told that wasnt an option.  Recording said if I did not have account number to enter my social security number.  I believe this is a scam, but not sure how to check to see if anyone has opened a Walmart account in my name other than checking credit report
