Received invoice on what looks like UPS CANADA letterhead.  Somewhat unexpected.  It gave particulars about customs charges on an item I imported.  This phone number 18885209090 was printed on the invoice.

It's been 4.5 months now since the invoice date - I haven't paid it nor heard from them.

I got an additional bill for UPS brokerage charges.  I had already paid charges COD when the parcel was delivered.  The phone # listed was 888-520-9090.  I am suspicious about these extra charges

Got a call to pay brokerage fes up front. They quoted a non existent UPS tracking. Left a call back # listed above. Spoke with a person calling himself Paul when asked if he was UPS he said he was with hesitation. Asked for by buusiness # and HST tax number and informed me I could  pay the brokerage in advance or have it shipped back to vendor. Spoke with vendor who gave me a real UPS tracking #. Checked his tracking # with UPS tracking and it is non existent.

That is correct as the shipment originating in the US will have an altercation int the shipping tracking number when it is received in Canda, Usually when the item is in the Canadian system you need to call the 888 number and ask for the new tracking number.  But all is legit with what is being said here. I import supplies for my business and this is normal proceedure.

If you're worried that it's a scam, you can google the main UPS number and call them directly about it.

I have dealt with a lot of calls about packages, but I got one from someone who said that they were from UPS that sounded different. Usually it is a recording, but it could have just been that because it went to voicemail, that it had to be done differently. I was too suspicious, so I called regular UPS and did it as I normally would have, and it seems normal. It's possible that some of these are just scams, but my best bet would be to call UPS and talk to them about it.

They are a reliable enough company, and they won't want people to think they're getting scammed, so they will help you out.

    Mr Skepticism
First of all, the number that called me was private so, since we never answer anonymous calls, it went to voicemail. The message was given very quickly and was difficult to follow.  It seemed that a package which I had been expecting, from the US (I live in Canada) needed to be cleared at customs, there would be no outstanding charges and that I just needed to verify if the contents were for personal or business use.  The message said to call this 1-888 number to verify.  Very skeptical, I googled the number they gave, and arrived here!  I also found the same number in some literature of UPS, also found via the above Google search. So I called the number; They just wanted to know if the shipment was for personal or business use.  I told them personal and they said it would be released at customs.  The main thing that I didn't like about all of this is that, when they called, the blocked their number.  So stupid for a company like UPS to do such a thing.  My philosophy has always been that if you call me anonymously, then I don't want to talk to you.

I received a call from this number asking for payment. The message left was informing me that i had an item coming in from overseas that needed to be cleared and wanted to know if i had a broker. They left me a 10 digit tracking number and to call toll free at 888-250-9090.
There is nothing i am expecting to come in from "overseas", so I called. The "UPS representative" asked my name, company i work for and address verification. But he could not verify the tracking number in his system to bring up the item info. I told him that's all i needed to know, thanked him and hung up.

I got a bill in the mail as well on UPS Canada letter head but very unofficial it seems to me, No info on how to pay except to mail it in. I called the number on the paper and I said ive never gotten a package that required payment like this that i would usually just pay at the post office or ahead of time or online to clear customs when i pick up a package. He said i could do it over the phone but i dont give out my info over the phone. When i went to the website and signed up for it all the tracking number was there but is already in Canada and in transit. So I dont know what to think. Maybe just keep waiting until a get a package or more comes of it i dont know.

If you already know to whom this number belongs, there's no logical reason for you to look it up so I'm guessing you came here to shill. Am I right?
