These people are scammers scaring senior people who they think are easily scared than the younger people.  I wish the government agencies should take these kind of scammers more seriously and throw them in jail.  They even sometimes claim that they have a warrant of arrest and they are ready to put you to jail if you don't call them back.  I never do..... but it still scares you to death. They said it too fast for me to understand what company they represent, I can swear she the IRS.

Caller from this number claimed to be a mediation group (IMG) on behalf of Wells Fargo. They used words like "pending civil suit" and  "breach of contract". They had the last four numbers of my social. They knew the name of the company I worked at 2 years ago. They also called my mother asking for me. They told me a specific dollar amount and offered to set up monthly payments to take care of it. I assured them that their records were mistaken and that I would take care of it directly with Wells Fargo if it was an issue. I walked into a Wells Fargo branch and validated that the caller was not legitimate. Total scam.

Supposedly something called "Integrity Mediation Group".  Basically debt scammers but call themselves "mediators" which is debt scammer talk for debt collector.  Ignore and block the calls.
    ___________________
    In any event,

Just because someone on the phone calling you says you owe a debt does not mean you actually owe it.

If a voice on the telephone claims you owe a debt:

    1.    Demand the person give you his or her name, company name, and address
    2.     Demand a debt validation letter by US mail.  E-mail no good.
    3.    Do not pay  the collection agent or anyone else a  dime until the debt is validated

Of course they won’t do this, no scammer ever will, so simply ignore them and block their calls.

If they are bothering you, report them:

http://www.consumer.ftc.gov/articles/0149-debt-collection (Threatening civil proceedings with no intent to follow through, or threatening criminal process in order to collect a civil debt is a  violation of the Federal Fair Debt Collection Practices Act.)  The same goes for endless telephone harassment

Note that the US Supreme Court in the Case of HENSON ET AL. v. SANTANDER CONSUMER USA INC., has recently ruled that the provisions of the Federal Fair Debt Collection Practices Act do not apply if the creditor owns the debt in question.  As a practical matter this probably won't effect the kinds of scam debt collectors who often show up on 800notes.  The scam collectors don't give you any information about themselves so it is impossible to know whether or not they in fact "own" the debt in question.  Most do not send debt validation letters and many often say they are collecting for someone else.  So, make the complaint anyway if they are bothering you.  Let the FTC sort it out.

Also contact your local attorney general

If they continue to bother you,  and you know you do not owe any money, tell them that you know this is  a debt scam and that you are making a complaint to the police for extortion.  Once you get a copy of the police report and they call you again , just read out the  file number and the name of the PD or Sheriff’s office involved.   Tell them you’ll be glad to send a copy to them at whatever address the jack***es are working out of now.

You'll probably have to yell at them and talk over them.  Tell 'em  no scammy debt collector is going to push you around.

You have to get tuff with these people because,  being akin to thugs, brute force is (metaphorically speaking).   the only thing they understand.

They keep calling with a new message daily. They give the 1-888-580-0128 number saying I have to call them. Today's message was they are sending documents that require a Federal ID to accept. It's a scam. Do not call the number.

Just another scam call trying to extort money. Uses a local 'spoofed' number to try and appear legitimate, they are anything but. In the voicemail they throw around seemingly scary words and phrases such as litigation, court, attorney, and so forth. They then go on to say that a courier will be visiting my home or place of employment with a 'package'. To resolve the matter I should reach out to them at their office at 888-580-0128. Any legitimate debt collector or any one who has a legal grievance with you has to follow the proper, LEGAL protocol and will have to file any and all paperwork through the courts and said paper work would either be sent to you via mail, certified mail, or by county constable. No legitimate law firm/attorney/mediation firm/debt collector will try and get money from you by only phone call as they have to PROVE that any debt that you owe is legitimate. They simply cannot say that you owe them money and you have to pay, that is illegal. Do not waste your time or energy on these fools.

I had the same voicemail today. I am half tempted to take the time to track them down. They are violating the law by claiming to be all of these different things.

Company just called me trying to scare me into paying saying that the call was being recorded by a court recorder.  Saying I owe a debt to Plain Green Loans.  When I asked the woman for the basic legally obligated details from them, she proceeded to get upset saying "so you're saying you refuse to pay the loan and I will go back to Plain Green and let them know." and immediately hung up on me.  I proceeded to call here back and said to her "so were you going to send what I requested you send me per my legal right and your obligation?  I wasn't sure since you abruptly hung up on my on the court recorded conversation"  She mentioned again that I was refusing to pay, to which I educated her on the legal obligation her firm has to supply me with proof of the debt, details of her company( name, address, etc.) in writing which as a collector she should be aware of, and this got her very upset to which she hung up again.  Guess I upset her. Oh and she didn't even give the correct number to call back on.  She left a number out, which I'm sure was intentional since it was a recording.

I just got a phone call from them as a local number of 803-462-5396. There was a lady on the recording saying that I  was being contacted because i may have direct or indirect involvement with this and they haven't heard any different. They are informing me that they will be doing an employment verification and something about getting approval to serve me on their property. If I have any questions I can call the office at 1-88-580-0128. Again the number is 1-88-580-0128. She left out one of the numbers. This is completely a scam. There was no company information provided, no name of the person calling, or anything else other than a partial phone number to call if I had any questions.
