Says I have a message from Social Security that I already read two days ago. I deleted just in case.

Text message says I have a new message at mySocialSecurity in the Message Center.  "Log in at https://secure.ssa.gov/RIL to read it."  I went to my browser and logged in to my social security account and there are no messages, although I did have one yesterday and read and archived it.

Yep, you opt in for text messages and that is the official SSA website.

Got a text message from 8885808988 stating I got a message from Social Security & provided a link.  I did not open the link.  I just got an email from Social Security day before & I logged into my account & read the message.   I find these text messages providing links to open as suspicious.  I therefore deleted the text message.

got a text said to go to ssa account read massage...now did I  just get scammed????????

Got a text message saying to log in at https://secure.ssa.gov
Click on it and took me to page asking for name & password.
Looked suspicious so I tried opening link in my web browser and got a "page not available"  I think it's a scam to get your ID & password.  Looked up number and no one shows up as owner of phone number

I know that it is the actual SSA site.  It goes right to their homepage.  Most likely your web browser has a problem since it just opened up fine for me.  I didn't even get the warning page this site puts up for links since it really is the SSA page.  This is a toll free number so I doubt that it would have an "owner".
