Got a call from this number saying I'm going to be served papers and my car repossessed if I didn't pay $850 over the phone from a credit card due to a delinquent credit card.  Had some in depth info on my past but wouldn't give me any options other than paying on the phone with a credit card so it must be a scam.

got a message on voice mail saying they were sending an police officer out to my address to serve me a court summons, but i dont know for what.hah, i think its a bill collector?

This is a scam. Called and said I owed money and they were sending someone to my house for a court summons if I don't pay them $850 over the phone without providing me ANY documentation. When I asked for documentation "Dan Walker" became very belligerent and would not provide any. When asked the address and name of the firm he was reluctant to give me any details. When I  looked up Dodson Law Group I found nothing about them, nothing about this number, and nothing about the address that relates to this so called law group. Also, I do not have a delinquent credit card in the first place that would warrant a law group to contact me. I checked my credit report anyway just to see if there was anything fishy in there and there is not. They claimed this was from 2009, surely there would be some evidence of this or someone would have sent me some actual documentation.

Refusing to give company information and MAIL WRITTEN documentation of the debt (within 5 days)   upon your request is a VIOLATION of the FDCPA.   Making the threat of a summons (that will never come) is also illegal.
Did you know it is also illegal to claim to be an attorney of they are not licensed - and wouldn't a real attorney know what is legal?

There is no doubt that this is a scam. Just want to warn anybody who may be contacted by this number or "law group".

Gave your state attorney general a call too.

Why are they not arrested or shut down? How can they keep doing this and ruining people's lives. Thank god some of us are smart enough knowing it's a scam.

Perhaps because they're in another country, calling via VoIP lines.

They wanted to garnish my paycheck for something that I dnt even have a card Chevron and Texaco ?????

Scam.  No legitimate process server calls you up in advance
and tells you they are coming by.  Most jurisdictions require
process servers to be licensed to serve process in their jurisdictions.
In some states only constables can serve civil process.

Ignore and block these calls.

No debt collector can garnish anyone's wages.  Only a judge's order
can do that.  And that only as part of a civil action where all parties
have their say.  THis is just an attempt to scare momey out of you. Block
and ignore the calls.

If you call that number, they just ID themselves as "legal office".  No
other information. Had an American accent.  Think thye are domestic
debt scammers.

Do not pay these scam artists anything. They called and told me that I will have a bench warrant for my arrest if I don't call back to be issued a court order  to pay my debt which I don't know where it came from. They will only have your name and the last four digits of social security number to make you think they are legit a and if you ask them who they are other than legal office they will not give you a name. Do Not ever believe they can arrest you without you signing off on a court ordered summons.

Recd call from "Joseph Smith" claiming to be a process server with a summons. Then,....Read posts from others about this SCAM. Thank you!!!!!!!!!! These are Indian or Pakistani etc  scammers who buy up a block of US based phone numbers for scams. Oregon's Attny General says they cannot prosecute because these countries don't cooperate with U.S. law. They milked over a BILLION dollars from victims in 2015.!! Thank you so much for posting this info. I received my call on Dec.29th,2016 also, just like previous posts. Lucky me....:)

So....I called the above scammer phone number a few times and told them that this number has been reported to the Attorney General's office as a Scam, and, GUESS WHAT...., within a few minutes this number is "no longer in service", shocking, huh??? Gotcha Scammers.One down, one million to go .    ....

Just got a text from brother-in-law with this #. Looking for spouse and  threatening legal action. They also called several other family members but the # shows up as private or unavailable. They leave a voicemail with this # and a court case #. SCAM.

I also have been called from this number claiming that I need to pay a debt or I will be sued. The guy did not want to give me any information on the claim. which I mentioned to him that I was looking at my credit report and I have no delinquent files on my report. Which I know this anyway because I have perfect credit. This guy is a  scammer!  I asked for his address and he would not give it to me. I also told him I do not find anything on Dodson law group on line or registered with the DBPR.  Be careful everyone! This guy is a scammer!!!! Do not give him any personal information.

Got a call saying they were a process server trying to serve a court ordered summons..but couldn't because the address on file wasn't accurate.. Had to call back at 888 589 9957....

You are correct. It is a scam. REAL process servers don't call in advance and make appointments as that would give you time to hide from them. Nor would they offer you the opportunity to pay your way out of being served. Just block and ignore calls from these scammers, if you can.

Got a call about Chevron/Texaco account.  Never had one.  Since my number is registered with the National Do Not Call register, I will report this.
