This number popped up on computer when I clicked on an email and computer crashed. It said to call them immediately.  When I did he said he was with Microsoft and someone was trying to hack our computer. He wanted money to fix it. My husband said said no, we would just trash it and buy a new one. Husband finally got computer working again. We called this number back and the same guy answered. What's the chances of that happening with Microsoft?

Yes it is a Scam.
Do not call the number in pop up windows. They are NOT Microsoft.
As you called them, they now have your number and you can expect scam calls from all kinds of numbers.
Never let people who call you gain remote access to your PC. They will steal all your private information, give you malware, over charge you and generally ruin your day (or several). They are criminals. Do not answer unknown callers and do not call them back.

I got a message to call this number didn't call but my neighbor did and it is a scam.

A screen with this number came up on my sister's computer when I was using it.  Said something really bad was wrong with the computer.  Asked for identification, which I did not provide because I recognized it as a scam.  I tried all sorts of ways to close this page, but could not.  I finally had to turn off the computer, then reboot it, to get rid of this page.

I called them and tried to bully them a little becuase its obv. a scam bout they intstantly hung up when i said i have no email adress
