- Sandi, Rhode Island| 1 replyThey just called asking for my dad by name and then explained how they're calling for Medicare part D and wanted a list of my Dad's medications to make sure there are no interactions. Since when did Medicare start making home calls?
- Caller: medicare
- BigA replies to Sandi, Rhode IslandThey don't. They would already have a list since they pay for them. And it is not their responsibility. That is up to the Doctor and the Pharmacist. Most likely that was a phishing expedition to get information to run some sort of scam on him or to get his Medicare number which is also his SS#

- KaseyWHang-up. Looks like this number hasn't been used for a while. Medicare, Part D or otherwise, is a Social Security benefit. The Social Security Administration will NEVER call from out of the blue asking for information on the phone. If you're concerned about your medications, or any other benefits, find the correct contact information for your area by going to www.ssa.gov and clicking on Contact Us in the top panel on the page. This opens a page containing a number of blue boxes. Clicking on Call Us will provide the toll-free number for your area. Clicking on Find An Office will allow you to enter your Zip Code to find the address, hours of operation and the toll-free number for your area.
- Caller: SCAM - "Medicare"
- Twin CitiesCalled me but left no message
- Bill| 1 replyThis is not a scam. People need to just ask the right questions. Like what insurance company are they calling from. Medicare is offering this as a complimentary service to insure there are no drug interactions and you are up to date with your flu and other shots. They figure they will save some money by making sure Medicare patients don't have to go to the ER all the time. Who would be able to get a list of your medications anyway? I always ask if there are any extras left over when I go to the pharmacy.
- Caller: Aetna
- Call type: Survey
- eden replies to BillIf they have questions they can call my well paid medical team at 2 of they top hospitals in the nation. Don't need to discuss meds with the intern! btw I am with a different insurance not aetna. If my team does not know about drug interactions I seriously doubt the intern does? My medication list is and shall remain private.
