There is a problem with your Visa card

GOT A CALL FROM 888-666-1798 LISTED AS PRIVATE ON CALLER id AT10:30 AM CST MAR 21ST. ELECTRONIC CALL WITH TAPE SAYING THERE WAS A PROBLEM WITH MY VISA CARD. cHECKED WITH CARD COMPANY AND THERE IS NO PROBLEM AND THEY DON'T CALL USING PRIVATE OR THAT NUMBER

Received a call from 8886661798 on March 21 wanting to verify card info due to a problem. Electronic message did not sound legit. Called company directly and found no problem and was told not to call the number.

received a call from this number yesterday telling me there was suspicious activity on my visa card.  I called this number and all they wanted was for me to input my 16 digit card number...they will not allow for an operater to come on the line...very suspicious on their end.  I called my credit card company directly and there was no suspicious activity and I was given a number and instructed to call and file a complaint since this is a federal offense...WHATEVER YOU DO NEVER INPUT YOUR INFORMATION WITHOUT KNOWING FIRST HAND WHOM YOU ARE SPEAKING WITH.  Here is the number to file a complaint against this number:

the call was from "State Department  Federal Credit union #099" and they said Visa Card blocked. Call 1-888-666-1798.

I called and there is a voice mail asking for you to enter your 16 card digit, they don't give any option to talk to somebody. Very suspicious, most likely to be a fraud practice.

Just got the same thing by txt msg, since I've never been a member of the State Dept Credit Union I figure it is some fraud deal as well.

Received Text message re Visa card for State Dept Credit Union. The message said to call 888-666-1798. I'd be really ticked if I didn't already have unlimited text messages.

Got text msg from "1010100001" and "1010100002" which said there was a problem with a visa card and to call 888-666-1798 or as the message says "8.8.8.6.6.6.1.7.9.8" this all looks kind of fishy. The message says "any dissemination is prohibited" so I guess I should not write any more. There is a company name W********* Securities Inc (I put the * so I'm not disseminating anything).

Got a call on my cell phone from an "Unknown Number". It was a odd sounding automated machine saying that my ATM debit card has been deactivated due to to strange activity or something. Then, the recording said I can call their number (which they never actually gave) or press 1 to speak to someone. After waiting a few seconds for a them to tell me the number to call (I planned on googling that number as well as the call itself), I finally hung up when there was nothing but silence. Never worked for or had a debit card with State Dept.
