This number popped up on my mother's CP when it froze. My mom called it and a man of middle-eastern accent answers and said he was a Microsoft servicer. He wanted to charge a fee to remove the block on her computer. She hung up on him and turned off the CP (improper shut-down) and everything on the computer was fine, back to normal.

This telephone number is a toll-free number, and the scammers now have her number and, being criminals, think she is a fool who got lucky this time.
What is "CP" ?

Computer-what else has those letters, is powered and freezes? (plus, he mentions it in the last part of the post)

I just figured out that it means "Cell Phone"
