no call just a yellow post card. it's definatly a scam.  the address in an abandoned car lot or repair shop and across the street is a furniture store. i called got a call center.  the guy said i was automatically entered into a sweepstakes drawing and they said they were going to send me a bunch of crap including sports ill and playboy for 24 months for free and a watch too...boy i think i won the lotto here!  these guys are scam artists!  if you confront them they will hangup on you immediately. they said frc stands for family reading club.  these guys will be very persistant.  i had to call the FBI to get them to stop sending me stuff and calling 24hrs a day.

    OMG
My boyfriend is in the process of moving over to my home state and used my address for two things, one to apply for a bank account and one to buy one item over the internet to be shipped to my place.

Next thing that happens is this yellow postcard arriving stating exactly in the following format (minus the blanked name and control #):
    "Dear ____
We are trying to reach you with
    Good News!
It is really important that you call us.
    Call Toll Free 1-888-673-5221
    CONTROL # (some random number)
    Thanks Michelle Barbaa
Call 10 am to 8:30 pm EST.
    Monday thru Friday"

Lack of punctuation and etc.  The front postcard shows it's from:

    F.R.C.
    1381 S Missouri Ave
    Clearwater, FL 33756-6500

It's an auto presorted, first-class mail from Ft. Meyers FL Permit No. 130.

I spent about 45 minutes trying to get these people off the phone.
I work for a market research firm (the company conducts research studies ONLY, It does not try to sell anything at all!)
It makes me quite a bit angry for telemarketers to harass people, because then others don't want to take surveys. Without people taking surveys, just on a personal note, I might lose my job. Taking a survey doesn't harm anyone! But, I do understand why someone wouldn't want to take a survey because of the experience they've had with a telemarketer.

My question, Ben, is did you receive anything else? I was promised a "diamond watch", along with another number of things, in exchange for $4.95/wk for magazines. I also received VERY vague answers to questions of when my credit card would stop being billed.

Ben...like I really believe you that are happy with your subsriptions!  All over the internet the only thing linked to these yellow postcards and the fake names is SCAM.  Karma will come around to those people who try to scam honest and hard working Americans.  These scammers are pathetic and shouldn't be allowed to live in America.
