Called my cell. Your basic 'call us back or we'll file claim in your county' call.  No company name given..

Called my cell several time threatening to file a claim for medical bills for my husband. But didn't have his number and claimed they got my info from "public records " shouldn't those same "records " have his info? THEN when he called they gave him an entirely different Hospital collection from 6 years ago and asked to $ to resolve the alleged debt. Marked as spam added to block list

It is incumbent upon them under the law to prove that the debt exists and that you owe it, and that they have the legal right to collect it.  You are not obligated under the law to prove that you don’t owe or that it is paid.

Federal law (FDCPA) requires them to send you a letter (US MAIL ONLY) postmarked within 5 days of their first contact that contains their name, physical address, the creditor’s name, and the amount of the alleged debt.  It also must contains “mini-Miranda” telling you that it is an attempt to collect a debt and that all information will be used for those purposes.  The one other important thing that this letter must also have in it is that you have a right to dispute the debt within 30 days of receipt of the letter and if you do so, all collection activity must be stopped until the debt is verified.

These people are try to collet on a debt that was filed in my BK 7 years ago. The BK has been long discharged. I am going to contact the BK court about this and then see if I have a case for Harassment . If so then I am going to take them to court.. They also calls my wife job and harass her there. I think these kind of people needs to be put in their place.

You don't have a case for "harassment".  What you have is an FDCPA case and possibly a TCPA and an FCRA case.  The court will not give you legal advice.  For these types of cases you can get a lawyer to take them on a contingency basis.  The big problem is who are you going to sue and where are they located?  If you can't serve them, you can't sue them.

They called me too. Trying to collect a debt from 2013 that was included on my bankruptcy. They threatened to go to my county and file papers and said that it was fraud due to payment was supposed to come out of my checking account - over 4 years ago. I called my attorney and they said it was a scam. Roger Carter is who I spoke with. Said that if I did not make payment on time, there would be a late charge (not taking me to court?????). Crazy. I have notified my state attorney and CFDB.

Left a message saying I needed to make a statement or have my lawyer call. If I didn't respond the person would have to enter a plea on my behalf. A case number was left but nothing else in regards to what it pertained to.... and the person addressed me directly but by my maiden name.... I've been married for 10 years now. So I can't even imagine what could be the issue. I called back left a message. No one had returned my call and I haven't received any notification in the mail.

After hours robo-greeter IDs them as "The filing department of Ackerman and Walker Mediations".  Scammery name.
Actually scammer double talk for debt collector.

They also calls from 888-307-9691  800notes.   The robo-greeter at this
latter number IDs them as  McCarthy Burgess and Wolf  Apparently this Ackerman and Walker
is just a phantom or zomibe subsidiary of McCarthy et all.

They left me a message too and didn't even use my last name-just my first and middle initial. Sounds very legit to me. 🙄

I received numerous calls on my cell phone from this firm.  I contacted them twice to inform that I am not “Abraham Nelson”, I don’t know anyone by that name.  I’ve had this telephone number for about 15-years.  I can only guess that Abraham Nelson is a deadbeat who owes money or swindled someone and they don’t believe I am not he.  The Case Number they refer to is C9998.  I am more than tired of trying to deal with them and I am more than tired of receiving their calls.  I turn my cellphone on only for business while I am away from home, so these calls were routed to my voice mail.

Left a message that they will file with my county... Had my first name only... said to call this number and reference a number ... that number came up in a "robo" call voice... Thinking this is a scam... I have no unpaid medical or hospital bills
