Send a cease and desist letter saying that they may only contact you by mail.  Then, if they call or come by your house, you can get them not only for FDCPA violations, but you can also get them for trespassing (check the laws in your state).  Good luck!

This number has shown up on my caller ID numerous times. Last night I finally answered it and "David" at 888-720-4911 X6238 asked to speak with someone who doesn't live at my house, but he informed me that I am "associated" with them. I asked him how he could POSSIBLY know that I know the person he is looking for...he told me "directory assistance". I do know them, they are related to my brother-in-law, but there is no way ANY numbers of mine would lead to them. I know them, but only thru my bro-in-law. I told "David" to take my number off of his list, it's a business phone and to NEVER call me again or I WOULD press charges!!!

www.budhibbs.com - EXCELLENT RESOURCE FOR DEALING WITH BOTTOMFEEDERS LIKE THIS ONE.  Even if you are not the one they are trying to collect from, the constant calls are iLLEGAL and you must learn how to deal with the issue directly via certified mail return reciept.  

Once you send the cease communications letter they are required by FDCPA to stop calling - if they continue YOU CAN SUE THEM in small claims court.

There are good and bad debt collectors, then there are the debt collectors who give the impression they would steal from anyone. This is one of those kind.

If you have ever been contacted by this agency, check your credit report to insure that the dates of last activity are correct. How do you know they're not legitimate?

May I ask what company they were trying to collect for? Was it a credit card, a payday loan, or ??

tried to call my sister in another state to get in touch with me.under a wrong name spelling.

The number 888 720 4911x6391 is a Collection Agency called URS.  They called my house looking for my niece.  The girl doesn't live here but she put my number down as a reference for them to call.  I told them I don't know such a person and to please take me off their calling list. Otherwise, any and all 800 calls made to my house get the Fax machine. I am not answering any of their calls.

Got phone messages from the same # and ext but said name was Mark (had a deep voice and was rude of course).

I just received a call from Amber Scott who was looking for my husband's ex-wife. I explained that I could not give out any information, but would relay the message. She said it was "personal business" and contact her at URS of Pheonix at 888-720-4911. I am glad I googled this number.

Got a call from Nancy Kelsey from this number at ext #6266 wanted to know if we knew where a person was and she need to get in touch with them for some very personal business. Got a little yancy when I was give a toll-free number to return the call. Nancy would not explain where she was calling from so I Googled it and ...... here we are.

i get numerous calls a day from these people for a bill that has been settled.
i live in one area code and have a phone from a different one, so i thought it was a wrong number, answered it to let them know.

lo and behold it was URS. they did everything wrong in the book that you can do. harassing number of phone calls, threatnening my job security, etc. etc. and despite all of this they could not verify my debt, and they said i could not call the original creditor to verify it. and when i was on the phone with a man he got rude with me, so i asked for his supervisor, supervisor got rude with me, i asked for his supervisor.

at that point he told me he didn't care what i wanted and hung up on me!

furious, i ignored the numerous calls per day i recieved afterwards.

then today, i get a note on my desk that they called my work!
ILLEGAL!
as in against federal law!

had my chief call them... apparently i am being removed from thier call list.... we'll see about that one

My father in law in a state 2200 miles away from gets a call saying he needs to get ahold of me asap and leaves the number with him. This is a debt for my ex husband who has been court ordered to pay and they are calling my new husbands family 10 years later to collect it. If I had money to fight it in court, id pay the dang bill for him to just be left alone. These people are rude, mean and obscene.

A mr. hennessy called me from 801-428-2135 and asked for a person I knew, so I said I will take a message, they wanted him to call 888-720-4911 ex 6010, So here I am looking this number up and run across all you guys.
some collection agency that is using a throw away cell phone to call for collections. are they alloud to do that?

We have received several calls for Renata Perez.  It is Eric Gonzalez from United Recovery Systems, a collection agency for her $12,000.00 Sears Credit card.  He says his number is 888-720-4911 x6426.  They always go to voicemail, but it is pretty much daily.

I received a call from this number today looking for someone who doesn't live here.  I told him as such--he asked me if I was the wife-I said no-he said 'write down this number and get a message to him to call me'.  I wrote down the number and then he hung the phone up on me--no goodbye, just a plain jerk--no other word for Mr. Parker.  Needless to say, this number is going in the garbage.

This # called my neighbor 3 houses down this week. Bad thing is I am a Realtor who has had hard times over the last year. Pay is really low this year. Gone through all my savings and now this. Trying to keep my head above water. The neighbor is also living in a property that I manage for the owner as a rental. She told me that a man called her asking for her husband. Her husband was at work so she asked if she could help him. He said that he was looking for my husband and it was highly urgent! They said our # had been disconnected and they could not reach us when that [***] had been calling my cell # all week. The even call from a local # in SC where I live which is 843-628-0989 . It is a computer generated # they use to trick you into answering. I looked up this web site  http://www.ftc.gov/os/statutes/fdcpa/fdcpact.htm    It is the Fair Debt Collections Act. Everyone on this site can go after these idiots. I know we are surely going to find an attorney to handle this!!!!!!!

Received a call from Jordan Sherwood today from 800-568-0399 but his call back # is 888-720-4911x6126.  He's looking for my ex-husband, but the way he went about it...Do you speak to him? Is this a valid phone # to contact him?  When going through my phone logs this number has called 5 times this week and it's only Thursday.

I have also received a call from the same number and from another area code (360#). A lady started to misspell my last name. According to her, she sent out a letter to me but I have not received anything. She introduced herself as "Linda Scott" (apparently she goes by multiple fake names) and the reason she is calling is because she is having a personal business matter with me! When I found out she needs some information about me and not wanting to give out info about her company then I decided not to talk to this person as I have the right to do so. I have been a victim of identity theft in the past and don't want to experience it again!

I receive a call at least once a day and they are rude and disrespectful.  I threaten hem with attorneys and such and they still call back.
