- JMz| 2 repliesThis was the customer service number given by an auto warrantee scammer. This was in like the 100th final courtesy call. They called from a variety of numbers. Sure sign of fraud is not using real caller id.
- Caller: auto warranty division
- DudeAuto warranty SCAM. 888-720-6135 is the customer service number they give you. They just want to get your Credit Card info. I had nothing else to do so I wasted their time. They were very upset talking to me. :)
- Caller: Warranty Division
- Call type: Scam suspicion
- patricia arnold replies to JMzI was scammed by the same company giving me this number for customer service this year. I was not aware and already had a similar reputable company since 2019.
- Patricia M Arnold| 1 replyI received a letter in mail for extended warranty and did not realize I already had one. Made the call and spoke to a person who gave a confirmation number. Two payments have been made since my conversation.
- Caller: Don't know company name.
- KristaCalled and said that the company name is advance auto and that my warranty on my vehicle has expired, they took my credit card info, and after looking them up after the phone call the company was fake and they will call from multiple numbers. I’ve canceled my credit cards.
- Caller: Advance auto supposedly
- Call type: Scam suspicion
- Ron replies to Patricia M Arnoldhow old is your vehicle and how did you know you already had coverage warranty? please
- Ron| 2 repliesI was just contacted by a nasty-mooded representative and gave them all my credit card & vehicle information.
- Caller: Complete Advance Auto
- MikeHuntleton replies to Ron| 1 replyWhy would you decide to look this up AFTER giving them your info? You should be looking at the paperwork from when you bought your vehicle, as any Warranty would be there with it. You can also contact the dealership where you bought it from and ask them if you still have coverage.
If you bought your vehicle from a private seller, then there is no Warranty, since they don't just automatically transfer to the next owner. You would have to go through the trouble of getting it yourself. - Ron replies to MikeHuntletonfacts
very true
It won't ever happen again smh - BritneyThe Truth About The Company:
They try to sell you a bogus car warranty: "Matrix Warranty Solutions" Their script is almost verbatim to all the other auto warranty scam calls on Youtube. They send you bogus mails and spam you robocalls. If you are bored enough or ignorant enough to call back the number or pick up, then you get prequalified, then transferred to a "Specialist" so they can qualify you for a bogus warranty plan that either DOES NOT WORK in California or works only 0.0001% of the time so they can meet the absolute bare minimum to not look like a SCAM, which is what they are. Call any local dealership in California, ask them if they will accept Matrix Warranty "The Element Protection Plan" and they will say no. Do not let these scumbags sweet talk you into these bogus extensions...These guys are professional liars and truly only care about how much money they can siphon off you. This is not a real warranty and their sympathy for your car or other problems is fake. Scammers are getting more sophisticated. Be careful of companies like these - Joelia KapuleWell I got this number too on a card in the mail and they said I have extended coverage I called n gave them my debit card info n lady said I would have an email after they took my first payment n they did but didn't get any email

- tosh| 4 repliesThese guys already had my credit card info. It appeared as "Advanced Auto" and the charge was for $49.99. Thankfully, my bank caught onto it and gave me a chance to deny the payment. Several days later, I got a call from 1-888-720-6135 saying that the payment was for the license plate tabs. They had knowledge of my car, phone number, and they even had my credit card info.
- Caller: Advanced Auto
- Call type: Scam suspicion
- BigA replies to tosh| 3 repliesAdvanced Auto is an automobile part supplier. I don't know what a "license plate tab" is. Someone must have given them that information.
- MJG replies to BigA| 2 repliesCould be the little sticker that comes with yearly payment of the license plate fee??? In my state it is about $45 a year. But then Advance Auto does not issue them. I do recall a third party was trying to sell these for more money than through the DVM.
- BigA replies to MJG| 1 replyWouldn't that come from the state and not an auto parts store?
I went online looking for "license plate tabs" and Amazon has them for around $8 for 20 of them. They seem to be the little plastic inserts that go into your bumper or wherever and then you run the screws that hold the plate into them. I can't see that costing $50 at any auto parts store. - MJG replies to BigAI was adding a sentence as you were typing.
