Text Message I received number is:

The Message was:
"Your Chase card needs attention.  Please go to chase.com or call 1-888-729-1404.  Reply STOP to opt out of text msgs to this #."
I called Chase and this was not a message they sent nor is the phone number in the message!

Received message on cell 3 times:  July 2, July14, and July 22.  Last message I replied STOP!! They returned message that they will not send anymore texts to this # for your Chase accts, including Mobile Banking Alerts.  To re-enroll, call 1-888-729-1404
Some how I have also received messages in my voice mail on cell phone sitting next to me, yet the phone never rang or buzzed; saying that my Chase account needs attention.  Can't find a phone number that matches the time of the message.

Thanks! I thought so, but was curious because we have had multiple cards compromised in the last 6 months. Peaked my interest......but i investigated first!!

Stupid scammer.

This number texted my husband, we have been targeted by several phone numbers lately about our Chase card.  Finally called Chase on one and their fraud department said it was phishing, not a Chase number phone number.  Several messages, we are freezing your account if you don't call; verify this purchase amount.

I googled the number and its not a chase number.  Don't fall for it

I received the same text message today. I thought it was strange for Chase to contact me in this manner.

A woman on the other end answered with the wind blowing in the background, and asked for my full 16 digit credit card number ! Duh! NO WAY! the number is very similar to the number on the back of my card, but when I called my credit card company, they verified that they never reach out via text message! Don't fall for this SCAMMER!

I just verified that is not a Scam but legit.

Hi Glenda, I originally followed this blog and was suspicious, but as it turns out this is legit, and that number is associated with Chase.

I received an unsolicited text message from 55985 with the same message as others above. I do NOT suggest calling the number in the text message, OR replying to it (even STOP). Doing so will likely result in more spam calls/texts being sent to your phone. I don't even have a Chase credit card, so this is definitely spam. Based on what others have said, if the first thing they ask for when you call back is your full 16 digit credit card number, then it's likely a scam. If you called back and gave them that information, call Chase Bank directly using the number on the back of your card, and cancel your card immediately. But again, the best way to fight this type of scam is NOT to respond to it in the first place. I am going to forward this number to the Chase fraud department for investigation, and (hopefully) they will shut it down.

I had a text to call that number, saying my CC needed attention. I called by dialing it, not using the link. The rep had my CC balance and asked to confirm the last 4 of my social and full name. He told me my balance was past due, which it is. At that point I got suspicious and hung up, called the # on my CC, and Chase confirmed that yes, they did send a text. So they do that.

I called Chase after getting a text from this number saying that my Chase card needed attention. They confirmed that they do not send out messages with phone numbers or links and that it was a fraudulent text.

Received a text message "your chase card needs attention " is a scam called chase to verify the number which they confirm to not  sent any messages .

Forward unwanted spam/scam texts to 7726 (SPAM) and let your phone service provider deal with them.
That number was set up by the phone companies to combat spam texts and they can shutdown offending phone numbers.
Never reply with "STOP", scammers will not honor the request (they have no honor to begin with) and it only verifies that they have texted to a valid number and a person who reads their texts.  It will not STOP the texts and may actually make them more frequent.
Never click on a link in such a text as it may cause malware to be inserted on your phone, and even if it does not, just as with replying "STOP" the scammers will know they reached a valid number.

I've gotten several of these now referencing my "chase card" (I don't have one). I called the number and got some guy in India and kept him busy during my lunch break while I ate a sandwich. I was polite and just played dumb.
In the end, I think he blocked me, which is cool.

got the text- called my bank- did NOT reply to text nor did i call the number listed.  this is a scam.  it is not Chase.  so its all scam.  They reported that they are aware of this number being sent out.
