First I received a text message from (201) 371-4195 stating "This is a message from NSI regarding an open investigation pertaining to (LAST NAME, FIRST NAME M.I.) to verify location information. Please contact the issuer at 888-752-0747 and reference case file (XXX-XXXXX) to prevent further escalation."

They were referencing an ex-boyfriend that I hadn't spoken to in over 10 years but I haven't changed my phone number in over 15 years so it's possible somehow his information was connected. I actually thought it was him at first because he was a scam artist I found out about a little too late, but I digress. So I blocked the number and move on with my day. Several hours later I receive a call from an unknown number that I do not answer. From this call I received a voicemail from a caller named "Paige" (she mumbled her last name probably on purpose) claiming to be from NSI, again referencing the previous text I received stating it's a pending complaint and they need to speak with the person their attempting to contact or their lawyer immediately. Now I'm highly bothered. So I call the number they referenced to call, and a rude woman answered the phone claiming to be with a company named Inland. I firmly said my number needs to be removed from their call list because I know it's spam but she remains in character saying that any reference number I received was associated with litigation and I need to provide more information. I then proceeded to say I'm not providing any information, simply do not call or text me again. She rudely said she can not help me if I can't provide more info and hung up. DO NOT GIVE IN TO THESE SCAMMERS.

    Not Today Satan!
Got a call from a lady saying her name was Paige and sounded like she said her last name was Sutters? Could be wrong on the last name but first name definitely Paige. Said she was calling from NSI about a pending complaint filed against me and that if I'm unaware or have questions that either myself or my attorney needs to call the issuing agent at 888-752-0747 and give them a case number that she gave me. I'm pretty sure I've received a call like this before from the same people a long time ago but I know that I haven't been in any trouble, I don't have any unpaid bills,  and don't even hang around anybody that would file a complaint against me! So I know that this is a SCAM!! So if anyone else receives a call, text, or voicemail like this, ignore the message and block the number they call you from! I can't stand those idiot scammers!!

Spoke to a Nicole Walker and was able to confirm my DOB, Last four of my social, and my previous addresses stating I owed Wells Fargo money, but haven’t had an account in over 10 years! They claim that they tried to serve me at the previous addresses, but I’ve been home.

I contacted Wells Fargo to confirm and they have filed an Identity Theft Case. DO NOT PAY ANYTHING TO ANYONE. Confirm your information first.

They'd have to prove you owe the debt then take you to court - and win! - before they could take your vehicle.
If someone calls claiming you owe money, tell them to follow the law by mailing you proof of the debt along with proof they're legally entitled to collect said debt. Refusal to do so - for any reason - is proof of the scam.

Nicole walker called call me stating that I owe Wells Fargo. Was trying to make it seem that if it went to court I would be charged double the amount. She acted as if she was Doing me a favor by only charge me 500. I called Wells Fargo three separate times and they verified each time that I did not earn her money. And they informed me to not give these people any money. Hopefully you don’t waste your time trying to find out if it’s a scam or not. I wish I would’ve googled the number from the beginning.

The funny thing is that they are referring to my maiden name that I haven't used in over 15 years!! Be careful people there are a lot of scammers out there right now especially with this Covid-19 pandemic going on!

Someone named "Emily Baker" called about a family member and mentioned a "civil complaint" about him.  She reference a case number and gave the 888# to call back.  This family member (elderly) called back and a person with an Indian accent answered so my family member hung up, panicked.  Please keep spreading this information so that lowlifes like this do not succeed.

Same thing as before Someone calling and leaving messages for a person by which doesn’t exist in the name that they are using. I know who they’re looking for but nevertheless I also know for years they’ve been dealing with entities selling information to third parties to collect money they don’t even owe! I just block them.
