Don't know what these people want

If you call the number back (and only if you can use caller ID block) you will get a messaging (handled by Audix Messaging Services), message indicating that this is the Northstar Pre-Legal Division of the Northstar Company (division does not exist, at least in any meaningful way). If these guys do indeed have a pre-legal division, from what I am seeing, it is to defend themselves against consumers. Scam - beware!

The whole 'pre-legal' crap is an intimidation tactic.
Just ask them if they are lawyers.
Do not take 'we work for a law office' or 'near a law office' as an excuse.
Get their name and address (as they are required to give as per the FDCPA) and send a request for validation.
If they threaten legal action, they can get in trouble for threatening something they may not be able to legally do.

This is a bill collector trying to collect money from an overdraft protection account that I had with Bank of America that unfortunately due to job loss went to collections.  They call up to 10 times a day, but leave different company names and callback numbers.  

I've dealt with a few collection companies in my lifetime, but this one is the worst.  Don't ever answer it.  They will lecture you and tell you what a horrible person you are for not paying them and threaten also you with lawsuits.  If I could pay it off, I would.  I will pay them last after everyone else though because of their tactics.  I don't even answer theirs any more at all.

These People are CRAZY!!! they will talk over you, you cant get any words in and when they are done talking they hang up on you. I have closed my Checking account so that they cant take any of my money. They are the RUDEST!!!! people i have ever met. they have even gone as far as taking my SSN and doing a back ground check and found that i had a brother and then searched for his phone # and started threatening him, little did they know he's a Cop. Dont talk to these people, if you can pay it off do so and get far away from them, if you cant dont talk to them let your papers go to another collections maybe the next collections people are nicer

They have another number as well 866-677-2569. They are outrageous. They contacted my job and my manager as well.  They are extremely rude and just down right stupid. They are out of control and need to be stopped!  They called back to back home, work and cell..

I have just filed a complaint with the Federal Trade Commission. I think we all should do so to make a point.  Can you imagine how many people are facing this abuse other than ourselves?

They left me a message - guy said he was calling for his client Bank of America.  I'm sure it's a collection agency, but when they say "my client" they assume you'll believe they're a law firm.

I've just entered a debt consolidation program, so hopefully these calls will cease soon.

They called my brother fishing for info about me.Telling him all my private information. Now my brother is all pissed off at me. Asking how they got his private number. They keep calling him using different people each time.

Imagine this I am in a foxhole being shot at. So I left the US to help defend freedom so these idiots can harass everyone, Yes I have a cell phone with me. What are the chances that this company has "SPOOFed" my parents private phone number to try to get me to answer the phone, That's right. Only time the parents call is in immediate emergency. To bad we can't send the Predator to take care of them. Now the person did not believe I am where I am, and asked if I could borrow the money to pay them. Where are the Politicians to help with a BILL to stop legitimate crap like these [***].

They said a 'complaint' was filed, and it needed to be rectified as soon as possible...lol!

Same call keeps calling do not pick up, then they call again. Had to unplug phone. Called them back and then call vulgar name, just was very rude. They call me from this number, my area code, houston, a residence number.

I get a call from this number everyday multiple times, but no one is ever on the other end.  This morning they called @ 8:01, one minute passed the legal limit to call....they then called 17 minutes later.  I answer the call and within 10 seconds, the call disconnects.  I've never been able to talk to anyone.

Whomever they are, the just keep calling asking for Chris.  I've told them there is no Chris here and they state they will remove my number from their call list.  They have been calling me for a year now and will not stop.

Why in your right mind would you pay ANY thing to a company call Northstar, don't you think if I was going to pay anybody it would be who I had the debt with?

Even if Northstar bought your debt why would you pay them anything? They bought a BAD debt.

They are trying to make money on somebody's down and out, so they need to ride it out, I took a 7 year hit on my credit, and I will be dang if I would ever pay anybody who bought my debt.

Someone from this company called my mom (asking for me) and said/implied they were Bank of America and offered me a "limited time 50% reduction offer"!!

My mom was so excited that she emailed me quickly to let me know about the offer from the nice man.  :)

Upon googling the number, I can see that this company is NOT Bank of America, but a collection agency.  I had already sent my mom an email telling her that Bank of America does not have any "debt" to collect.

Do you think the "reduction" offer was really a weight loss gimmick???

its s pre recorded message that says i have to leave my full name and thats the process for a pay day loan
a bunch of crap if you ask me and it then hangs up on you if you call back all you are able to do is push one on your phone and leave name and again it hangs up on you

Receive calls from this number at least three times a week for over eight months. The different callers ask for a person who has never existed at my number and does not exist at my number.
