SCAMMERS SPOOF LEGIT NUMBERS-GET IT THROUGH YOUR THICK SKULL

Did not receive a call, but # was at bottom of an EMail I received supposedly from NFCU.  I don't have an account with them, so Email is probably bogus, or someone is using my junk mail account.  Just be aware that phone #'s can be spoofed, so it looks like a call is coming from a number that it is not.

I'm not getting calls from them, but snail mail in my name & also, my husband's name. I called the number up, which I don't normally do. They ask you for your social security number, which is no longer allowed, because of identity theft. DON'T DO IT!!!

 Please cite the law that says this.  There is absolutely no law that I can find that says that.  You received junk mail from them and then stupidly called them?  You never receive junk mail before?

8:22 am 6/19/21   automated recording saying was call from NFCU but caller ID had NFCU number but read US Government. Message cut off after saying "press any number to continue".

Im getting 2-3 calls a day from this number, ID says "Health Benefits"     Sometimes they call 4 times in a row, 1 minute apart (im counting this a one call)  then call 20 minutes later, then 40, etc.   In the last 2 weeks i count 21 calls.

Im a federal employee as is my husband.   I had 2 surgeries this year  and he's got a massive Workman's  comp case they are playing all manner of games not to look at or answer calls on.  its going on 7 months now and we're getting calls by the bucket liad from collection dept. and agencies due to this.  i spend hours a week on the phone.
     i dont think this number is any health faction involved in this.  we have a recorded message specially saying we dont answer calls from unknown or unavailable callers due to the amount of spam and scam calls, so please leave a message if youre legit and we'll call you back.    they never leave a message.  if this IS legit, they are being incredible pests, times 10.

"health services" is vague.  we have Bc/Bs federal insurance and im also on medicare.  both these have IDs and dont typically call.

I think this is a possibly legit number thats been spoofed, especially since way back it was being reported as  Navy number asking about possible credit fraud.   I had this happen with my bank card - my identity was stolen- and the legit bank would call me ( but leave messages) while scammers used the same number to try to scare me into.giving info to verify it was me, to then check things.

the bottom line is -  call the number back if they say they're legit or look it up first.  this number is listed on a lot of scam sites.

1 888 842 6328 is indeed a real Navy Federal number to the automated bank teller. This number CANNOT make outgoing calls so if anyone calls you from here it's a SCAMMER. Had 3 calls this week from them about a fake charge that wasn't on my account but they NEEDED my account # and PIN to cancel the charges and get me a new debit card. Called Navy FCU direct and it's a SCAMMER.

You do realize you replied to a post from 11 years ago & basically told that person the same thing they had posted, right?

I received a text from 20270. They said my credit card had suspicious activity on it, but the last 4 of my credit card they gave me was not mine. I think the phone number link in the message was the hook.

Came up as potential spam 888-437-6328 Message claimed I was an existing customer (nope) & that they were calling from AT&T Direct TV but left another number in the prerecorded message to call 844-590-2198

I received a call on my home landline tonight, 01/26/2022 8:31 pm & 8:38 pm. from this Navy Federal number 888.842.6328. The caller (male) said that he was calling from Navy Federal Fraud division. The caller advised that my card was just used in Las Vegas for $2000.00. Asked if I traveled there recently. I replied, I've never been there before. The call was disconnected. The Navy Federal number called back. The caller advised there was a bad connection. He asked if I had any family that lives in Las Vegas. I replied, no. The caller asked me to verify the last 10 digits of my card number. I advised that Navy Federal has never asked me to verify the last 10 digits for a possible fraud. Further, he told me that I can verify that the number he is calling from is a Navy Fedral number and he will verify my last four digits of my social. He verified my last four and my email address. I then started to say the last 10 digits and immediately he interrupted me. The call dropped again. He called back, I asked why did he stop me from verifying my number.? He advised that I had to enter it on the phone that I was on. I did so and everything went silent... then, phone disconnected again. I got a bad feeling so, I called the Navy Federal number back. A woman (Navy Federal representative) answered who verified that the call was not from a Navy Federal employee. She verified my account, my last transactions, the current total in my account and suspended my debit card. The female rep also advised that this has been going on.

Yes, the number was spoofed.  You should look up "Caller ID Spoofing".

Someone must have cloned NFCU's number to show as their caller ID. I got a 4 calls in a row. Then got a text asking if I had used my card in VA and to text back yes or no. I texted back since it didn't require me to open a link. A man called me again asking if I had authorized purchases in TX. Then he started asking personal questions. I told him I would call them in the morning and he started swearing at me.

This number is being "spoofed" by a group of scammers.  Do Not Reply to or answer any calls you receive from this number or anything related to this number.  They will ask for your DOB, SSN, Last 10 of your debit card or credit card.  They will then send you a text from 73949 which reads "###### is your NFCU security code. We'll never call you to confirm it. If you didn't initiate this action, call us at 1-888-842-6328." This means they are trying to access your online banking account and need that 6 digit code as the two step/factor authentication to allow them access. DO NOT GIVE THIS CODE OUT!  Hang up immediately and call Navy Federal Credit Union yourself.

Look at the back of your NFCU card. The SAME number is on there to report lost/stolen cards!!! It's also on their website. You didn't research too hard!!
