Received a call from this strange looking number and didn't answer.

they left a message on mine saying they were the BBB. I dont know if I blv it though.

Telemarketer from the Better Business Bureau in Trenton NJ, makes it cound like you are in trouble, but it's BS. He wants your company to sign up, but he legitimately works for them...but he comes off as a real jerk.

Rcvd a call yesterday at our company.  Said he was Richy Katz from the Better Business Bureau in Trenton.  Was belligerent, arrogant, rude and aggressive with three different people who tried to find out exactly what he wanted while he kept insisting that he wanted to be connected with the president of the company.  Wasted far too much of our time.

Rcvd a msg from Richard Katz 5/6 and he called me today demanding to speak to the owner.  Made it sound important but I suspected a marketing ploy.  Glad I looked this up!

Me too - just yesterday - received a "somewhat nasty" abrupt voicemail for the owner of the company to call him back. I just called back and left a message for him.  His voicemail says: "This is Linda and Richie from the Better Business Bureau. Please leave your name, the name of your company and the direct telephone number that we can reach you at".  I did leave a message, but just found this website.  I will not be returning any calls based on now knowing this is a telemarketing ploy.  thank you ALL!

Just got a call from the same person; sounded extremely rude. Turns out he is from the BBB in their marketing department. I intend file a complaint...

Same bogus name and number August 20, 2008 with call to NJ atty office.

This two people are rude arrogant an extremely aggressive...how do they represent the BBB ?

I just received a call from these people on my answering machine. I called the BBB to verify if he was legit with the BBB and I must say the woman was very rude. I asked if he was there and she said no- but did say he worked for them.I was on hold for 20 minutes. It just sounds really weird that he works from somewhere else especially when the BBB warns against scams...shady calls..etc..... This seems ironic that this man is being like a scammer- or at least sounding a great deal like one and works for the BBB. If there's a complaint against your business they don't call, they send a letter showing everything. Dont call this man back.
