    WHO'S PHONE NUMBER IS THIS?

Kohls.com, but when I call the phone number, I immediately get christmas music.  No recorded message saying what company I've called, that I'm being put on hold, that my call will be answered, if the office is closed, etc.  I called the regular Kohls 1-800 number and they couldn't help.

This is a non published number for a reason, it is a direct phone line to a specific department with Kohl's Corporate offices.  There is no waiting message or music and no "Thank you for calling Kohls" because it calls a department directly and is answered directly.  Unless you are calling when the department is closed is the only time you will hear a message and then you can leave a voice mail.  When you call the general Kohls Customer Service number they are not allowed to give the details of this number, and to be honest most of them don't know the number just an extension to the department.  Hope this helps some of you that are confused, I can tell you though 99% of the time if there is a Voice Mail, we will leave a message and then you will know why we are calling.

I was also told to call this number to verify two orders to my Kohls charge account, which I do not have.  I called Kohl's customer service and told them I was told to call this number, and they verified that I do not have an account with Kohl's, and that this call was more than likely trying to get my credit card information to commit fraud, and to not give them any of this or personal information, and that Kohls does not confirm orders over the phone, only through e-mail, so I would say DON'T call back, and if you are concerned, to call Kohls directly through customer service.  The two order numbers they stated were non existent too.

Be forewarned, we just got a call about some charges for Kohl with an account that has never been used to charge at this institution. Also, we don't even have an account with Kohl. So by ** no ** means given out any personal information or call the number back that they provide. They are after your personal and credit card information!

    ** WARNING ** FRAUD CALL!

I will partly reverse my comment about this phone number and give credit to Kohl's for attempting to validate charges made by a stolen credit card number, not card stolen, the NUMBER STOLEN. Unfortunately in a world of identity theft and fraudulent scams, one is very caution when a common form of scams is to impersonate a recognizable or familiar institution such as your bank, merchant, relative, etc. So there are 2 issues to pay attention too here.

    1) Watch who you give your credit card too. We are still trying to figure out how the number was stolen, but the individual(s) had the CCV number as well which means that they had access to the back of the card. It is ironic that we commonly trust waiters/waitresses and other places where we give our card to someone to complete a transaction. Note that all they need to do is copy your credit card number, copy the CCV number and record name. Later you can then simply Google the name to get the address. Given this information you can charge on almost any online retailer.

    2) You still need to be cautious about giving personal information over the phone. If you did not initiate the call then request a transaction number, name and a number to call be on (not that you should use this and instead look up the number via your account information or online to contact customer service) and then hang up and call ** yourself **.

Remember that unfortunately we need to be extremely careful because once your data is compromised, it is a lot of effort on many people's part to fix the issue and in some cases, it can be disastrous.

Again my apologies to Kohl's who tried to do the right thing.

    Signed,

    A very cautious customer....

"Better to be safe than sorry"
I can"t say for sure that this is Kohl's number, it sounds like them and very proffessional. Like all the others I to received a call from "(262)703-1977" this number that appeared on my caller I.D. I didn't answer the call but they did leave a call back number "1-888-890-1755" the recording stated that an order had been placed with Kohl's online and that they needed additional information in order to process the order. They left an order number for a refrence in the message. The message stated that if I didn't get a hold of them by a certain date that the order would be canceled. If its a fraud they sound pretty proffessional and if its Kohl's they are doing a great job looking out for us. If you received a call from these numbers don't be afraid to call them back, its not like they don't allready have your number. When and if you call these numbers back use your brain, don't give them any information that they don't allready have. They have your name and maybe a credit card brand and possibly your credit card number. Be smart, check your credit card statements for weired or out of the ordinary purchases, call the card company and request a new card, the scammers are getting smarter every day so we have to do the same, be careful how you use a credit card, if your going to use a card online, over the phone, or in a restaurant where the server walks away with it, use or get a credit card that has a very low limit, or use a prepaid card either way its better to be safe than sorry.

Its the Fraud Department in Kohls. It goes directly to a rep line. I ordered an Egift card and shortly got a call from 262-702-1977. I didnt know who it was so I didnt pick up. I then got an email saying that they needed further information to process my request and gave me this 888 number to call. They didnt ask for a social or anything. I was using a Virtual Visa card to buy an Egift card. They just asked for my order number and my address and DOB and that was it. I got my gift card shortly afterwards. If you dont have an account or anything, ignore these calls, but they are from the fraud department checking unusual activities in random accounts.

This actually IS a legit number.  It's the Kohl's fraud department.  I just called the main Kohl's customer service telephone number (which is the phone number listed on the Kohl's website) and the customer service rep did confirm that the number is legit.  I think that because it's a fraud department they try not to reveal too much info since they may be investigating fraud.

I got a letter with this number in it today.  Someone did use my Kohl's credit card number to make a purchase.  They opened a fraud investigation.  I went on line and changed my information including my payment information. Actually I was surprised I could still access my account on line; however, there IS a charge on there that wasn't done by me so someone did attempt to use my card #, on line, to make a purchase.

This is the Fraud Dept. for Kohls.com, store and dredit card.  My shopping account was hacked and they used my credit card to purchase $1600 worth of stuff within an hour.   This phone number was in an email sent to me by Kohls.com when the hacker changed my email address.

I can confirm this is Kohls. There was fraudulent activity with my account and they notified me.  I didn't call the number they gave me... I called the number on my card.

I received a phone call from 262-703-1977 telling me they were verifying a Kohls account opened up in my name.  Please call back 888-890-1755 to verify the account.  Sounds very professional, but when calling back to verify my account they needed my social security number.  FRAUD!

It's Kohl's.  I got an email advising me that the email address to my buyer account was changed and this phone number was in the email to contact if I didn't make the change. I called and got the recording saying Welcome to Kohl's. I spoke with a Kohl's rep. She took care of everything for me.  Apparently someone hacked my buyer account (not my credit card account). No purchases were made but she removed my Kohl's credit card info and locked down the account for me. Apparently what people do is hack the account, make a purchase (and even have it delivered to the original account holder...as a "gift") and then get the Kohl's bucks sent to their newly added email address to use later.

I got an email with this phone number saying my email address had been changed, which I had not done.  I called the phone number on the back of my kohls card and turns out someone had hacked my kohls.com account and ordered a diamond necklace to be sent to my address, apparently to get the kohls dollars.  They already caught this as fraudulent order and they locked my online account for me.  I'm guessing the phone number was legitimate, but I always call the number on my card or statemnet anyway, just to be safe.

I received an email stating that my information was changed (email address) and to call this number 1-888-890-1755 or to "click here" to manage my account.

I called the number on the back of my Kohl's card and verified nothing had been changed.  This phone number is phishing for your information.  Do not give them your info.  Call the number on your card.

It is the Kohl's Fraud department.  I received the below email from Kohls and called the phone number and they were able to help me process an order, update my account and add extra security for future transactions so this person can't get into it again.  When I saw my shopping cart they had added a $150 Steamer, $80 electric shaving razor, $50 Hand Vac and lots more.  They probably tried to to submit the order and the order didn't go through because I'm close to my credit limit.  HA HA!  Anyways, Kohls was great in assisting me.  This is the original email sent to me by Kohl's which informed me my Kohl's email address was changed.
