These people continue to call after they have been asked not to

Several recorded messages during the last few days from this number, identifying themselves as NCO Financial Systems, for debt collection purposes. No mention of who they were looking for or what company they represent! We do not have ANY outstanding or overdue bills - I think this is a scam, and do not plan to call them back to find out anything!!!

You might want to give them a call.  I could have made the exact post as you did (with the exception that they did leave their company name).  I called them and they said something about an unpaid parking voucher at the college I attended and still visit for sporting events.  I smiply called the school and sure enough; I was in their system for an unpaid ticket.  I mentioned NCO and they said that they are one of the collection companies they deal with (why I was not intially contacted by the school is a mystery to me, but that's another issue!).  Although legit (it seems), their professionalism was definitely lacking.  For such a small amount for a minor infraction, something like this could definitely hurt your credit.  Check it out!

yes you are right B.A.G but nco is well known for making up depts and digging up depts well over the statue of limitations (7 years on an unpaid dept). They are a legit business that scams like pros

I had the same issue as BAG - was contacted by NCO for a tuition balance I didn't even know existed. Why the college didn't contact me before sending the bill to collections is beyond me. Paid it off and was done with it.

NCO is well know for their unlawful harassment and shady business practices. The sooner you can handle the situation and not have to deal with this company, the better!

because a college or university is not legally obligated to inform you of your debts owed to them. It is the students responsibility to keep up on their financial responsiblities. If you would have left the school on good terms you would have had an exit interview and at that time they would have informed you of all your bills owed to the school

I see everyone saying its a collection agency. However;

I picked up the phone and said "hello."

The robot voice on the other end promptly said "Goodbye!"

I would think that a collection agency would say "Hi, you owe someone money. Please call us back at (number) for more details. That number again is (xxxx)"

I doubt a robotic voice blurting "GOODBYE!" is an effective way of getting unpaid money.

And, I know I have no debts at all. My credit is perfect and I'm pretty frugal with my money.

these people call me at work as well as at home and on my cell number. How do I get them to stop calling me at work? I am not allowed to recieve these calls at work because they are personal calls.

They call ALL THE TIME.   I know I have no outstanding debts.  They never ask for anyone.   Just "return the call at...".    It got so annoying that I put them on my "call screen" list through my phone provider.   It still shows their attempts.   Sometimes 5- 10 times in a row.  LOL
If it is so important they can send me a letter.

Get a call from these people ALL THE TIME!   They have been told numerous times they have a wrong number.   Still get the constant robocalls.    I finally blocked the number.   I don't get the msgs anymore..but my system allows me to see 'attempts'      5,6,7 attempts in a row...every day!

Dear NCO...if it's truly that important...send a letter.

These people just recently started calling my poor Grandmother. (I haven't lived there in 14 years) and she says they call her all the time. But it's always a pre-recorded message. I know I have no outstanding debt. Who are these people? And why are they calling my Grandmother to find me? I called to tell them to quit, and just got a ton of different voice mails. I never spoke to a live person. It's all very weird and sketchy. How do I make them stop? She is 89 she doesn't need these harassing phone calls.

These ppl call and never say who they are looking for. It's a recorded message that just repeats that "this is an attempt to collect debt". I don't owe any money and if I did they need to have a real person call me not a recording

I was emailed this number and it was addressed to a veteran saying that they were offering him a loan.
My email is my full name and is no where near the veterans name.
I googled the admiral who sent me the letter and it came up as a deceased lawyer.
