This number called me today and a woman named Marcella said she was with AT&T.  She said they were upgrading our DSL phone line and internet service to U-Verse and it would be a 24 month contract.  By making this change, it would make our $600+ monthly business phone bill reduce to $445.00.

After going through a bunch of b.s. questions, she said she needed to read through some legals to get my verbal authorization to make the change.  After going through a couple of paragraphs she said "if the customer chooses to cancel the internet part of this contract at some point within the contracted dates, the PENALTY for early cancellation would be 15 TIMES THE MONTHLY CHARGES FOR THE REMAINING MONTHS of the contract.     If we choose to cancel the phone part of the contract as stated above, the PENALTY would be 20 TIME THE MONTHLY CHARGES FOR THE REMAINING MONTHS of the contract

I have no idea if these people were really AT&T or not, my suspicion is no.  BE AWARE

This number was on the caller id.   This has been quite often this has happened.  When I answered NO ONE would say ANYTHING.  NOTHING!  Not a word.  They just sat on the phone.  When I called the number back I get music.  Really, you people are telling me that this is AT&T.  I think I might know who the liar might be.  If this is AT&T the AT&T must be about to declare bankruptcy.  They must be really really broke to hire someone that would just sit there on the phone and listen to someone answer it and not say anything.  If it really really is AT&T they have dredged the bottom of the barrel.  Must be people that couldn't get a job anywhere else.

HOW!  How can you pull the record of the call?    You have your swami hat on?  Where on there did it give information that you could use to find out what to pull?

This number continually comes up and there is a pause then the same male voice states he has dialed a wrong number.  AT&T should be paying business for the interruption and time loss they cause with this marketing method.  Just about ready to switch providers and pray Cox will be better. Cracks me up that AT&T is the advertising sponsor on this page

Same for me, just got this caller id 2 days in a row with the same pause and then the same guy saying he dialed the wrong number. Probably a recorded message and some telemarketing firm fishing for working numbers.

Same thing.  Keeps calling, either hangs up or says  has the wrong number.  This is a scam.  I don't know what for, but it is definitely something is in the works to scam someone out of something.

This number keeps ringing in my phone and no one will talk. It is a pain when I am busy trying to run a business to stop to answer the phone and no one will even talk.

I work for a company who receives multiple phone calls a day from 888-941-4875.  No one answers when I pick up the call.   It is very annoying and I would like to find out how to stop it from happening.  Unlike the caller, we have work to do and to be disrupted several times a day for no reason at all is ridiculous.

This number pops up on our caller ID at least twice daily, all week long.  And it's on all our lines, sometimes even the fax line.  I'm guessing it's like some previous posts said, and they're fishing.  It's annoying, especially when I'm in the back and have to get to a desk to answer a call from... NO ONE!  I wish they'd update their database so they quit calling the same numbers over and over.

Keeps calling our office and there is no one on the line.  I called it back and they said they were AT & T.  I asked them to stop calling our office.  I spoke to an actual A T & T rep yesterday and if these callers call you need to ask them what your actual account # is.  If they cannot give it to you...beware.  I do not like to be scammed.  Shame on you!!!!

The caller said they were from AT&Tand wanted to give me a free upgrade to UVerse but asked for my EIN number.  I had already talked to AT&T this morning regarding a connection problem and we discussed how someone would said they were from AT&T but really aren't associated with them.  I was told that NO ONE from AT&T would be asking for an EIN number is regards to an upgrade.  This is definitely a SCAM!  BEWARE!

Called them back and they answered.  They indicated they were a third-party company (Sigma or something like that) hired by AT&T to sell AT&T service upgrades.  They were able to list all the lines on my AT&T business account including which one carried the DSL, but could not provide my AT&T account number.  Said AT&T does not give them that info.  They were offering promotional upgrade pricing on bundled phone lines and high-speed "uverse" internet.  The price was slightly better with slightly faster internet than we have, but it was a short-term promotional price that would likely go up later and required a contract commitment of 1 or 2 years.  So not a particularly good deal.  Might or might not be legit, but definitely high-pressure telemarketing.  (Also said AT&T was "migrating everyone".  But never said you cannot keep what you have if you are happy, so don't be fooled by that aspect.)
