Pay loans are illegal in NJ. Any case against you would have been thrown out of court . Payday loans are unenforceable in NJ.

Sooooo, then why is a pay day loan company making loans to persons residing in New Jersey when it is illegal to do so?

LOL.. doing business in a state where its illegal for this kind of loan? Wow, that's just illegal for a start and to top it off, any business doing business in another state has to abide by that states laws as well as its own!

So I'm guessing that puts it at 100% illegal..

I received a call saying I owed money for an unpaid payday loan for a company called "cash call". They said a warrant was going to be issued for my arrest if I didn't pay a 300.00 hold off. Called the FTC to report them, and just receive another call saying they are going to continue thought the judicial system with my claim. Called the company I had a so called loan with and they said it never existed. Scams like this just work my last nerve.

This phone number called & left me a message that I wrote a bad check from my bank and he had the last of my SS# he said if I didn't return his call by September 11, 2013; he was coming to my County to arrest me! First of all, I do NOT write checks and I do NOT have any checks. Secondly, I made a formal complaint with the FTC to find out who this creep is and bring charges against him and the Company he said he represents which Zenith. PLEASE BE AWARE OF SCAMMERS AND DO NOT GIVE ANY ADDITIONAL INFORMATION!

I got a voice message from this number. The beginning of the message was garbled but sounded like "security".  Then they said that a fraudulent claim was made on my social security number in my state and that this was an urgent matter and that I should call back.  I think I'll wait and see what happens, see if they call back.  I don't think it's legit.

I have got this almost exact same call from several different numbers.  I NEVER EVER  call them back.  Once concern is that the 888 number pays them for every  call they get.  That's the only reason I can figure out that they call work numbers...so you'll call back to see who the call is for! The other is my time is too valuable to waste.  I'm pretty sure I'd know if someone had a reason to arrest me!

I also have received nasty rude calls from this place called CCS, Century Claims Services. 888-959-6786, is one of the multiple numbers they use to call people from. Also stating that I owed money for something, but refused to elaborate on exactly what it is that I owe. I asked them to remove me from their call list, or I would take legal action, Mr Kenneth Anderson just laughed, said I had no way to trace them, and hung up on me.

I also spoke with a Deanna Martin, who was the only pleasant person in that building, but she was not very helpful in resolving these crazy calls.

Received robocalls, one each from (706) 956-2444 and from (470) 238-2610, both saying:

"Please contact us regarding a possible claim in your state that involves your name and social security number.  It is very important that we speak with you today regarding this time sensitive matter.  Your prompt response is necessary.  Our contact number is 888-959-6786."

No identification of who they purport they're calling, who they are, whether it's a claim for or against, nor the state.  The only other clue is that it was sent to my old phone number from another state.

Other calls on this site assert the company name is Zenith Financial.  I have no plans to call them back.

These scam artists called me today 3 times in less than hour.  I called them back and explained to him that their automated message doesn't state the name of their company and that I don't have to return the call in that case.  The rude gentleman stated that if I didn't have to return the call then why did I.  I told him "Well it's because you harrassed me by calling me 3 times in a hour".  He probably broke about 3 FDCPA laws during the phone call.  When I tried to explain this to him and that I have never received any paperwork in the mail he got real rude and hung up.  That's real professional.  No legit debt collector would talk to a person like because they don't have to.  THESE PEOPLE ARE 100% a scam.  DO NOT GIVE THEM ANY MONEY OR PERSONAL INFO.

    Deputy Sheriff
Well guys I have gotten the same calls and the same threats from century claims. I have a unpaid payday loan. I asked some questions. They gave me one answer told me the loan was taken out in 2011 or 2012. Come on now if they got my info and cannot tell me the exact day or even year then I know for a fact it is scam. Well here is the best part they stated I was going to be arrested and warrants the whole spill about contacting law enforcement to come talk to me. And that this chief investigator  was going to arrest me. Well I work for the Sheriff's department in my county!!! I played along with this and told him if I had to be arrested to come get me. Also told him that when he came he needed to call the county sheriff's department for backup. He got angry and hung up on me. Waiting for him to call me back so I can inform him I am Law Enforcement and when he calls County for back up I will probably be the one to back him up. So I am just sitting back and waiting for him to call. I will advise him that calling and telling me he is coming to arrest me is impersonating Law Enforcement and where I live that is a felony!!!! PLEASE people reading this do not give any information to these people. I have seen to many times and taken to many reports were people's identity is stolen or they lose the money that they have worked hard for. If they call and do this to you dont hesitate to call local law enforcement to file a report and have a paper trail.
