Lana Carter is her name and she is a liar!!

Kept getting calls. Finally got to talk to Lana. She said she has a file on me? Can't be much, I'm on disability. She is a scam artist!

Lana gets an A for effort!  She is calling my 80 year old mom telling her that she is a client of mine and I need to return her call.  Problem is even if I did owe someone $, Mom has never co-signed on a loan for me, I never lived at the address my mom moved to and Lana is violating the fair debt collections act.  Would it surprise you if Lana the liar didn't care when I pointed this out?

No one here can make them stop calling your parents unfortunately! This is a forum to posts who calls you so others know what is going on with the number.  From the looks of the above posts, and the MO, it could be another of those extortion scammers.  You may need to file complaints accordingly but suggest you get them a call blocking device as these types will continue to break the laws repeatedly.

Please do file reports with the FBI, your state attorney general and Department Of Justice,FTC & FCC..

She is still at it. Very RUDE.  wont give any info. when I went  to look up the number she gave me. Lead me here. so what does that tell you.  trying to find out how she knows my name and my fathers name. he and I live in different states.  Claims there is a pending legal thing AGAINST my dad.  which is very funny.  since my dad is one of the most honest men I ever known and would have told me stuff like this.  So I agree she is a scammer.  or fraud.  I filed a compliant with the FBI.  Claimed the number was a federal number.  HAHA.  

Lana Carter called my cell phone and house phone and left a message stating If I didn't return her calls she would take further action against me. I didn't call her because I thought she had the wrong person. However she called my mother-in-law and left the same message. I finally called the number she left, 4 times but she never answered, so I left a message. I was perplexed to say the least, luckily my daughter to me to Google the number, to my surprise there was a whole forum devoted to "Lana Carter" and her underhanded and very illegal collection practices  So if  anyone receives a call from 888-978-5196 or 214-380-2178, do not give out any personally info. ask them to send you proof of the account or whatever they are claiming you owe.

I got 2 phone calls from Lana Carter today house and cell. Telling me it is urgent matter , will not disclose what company she is calling from. She told me unless I give her the info she is going to have police come and get me. She also threatened me to have 4 guys come to my house, if I did not cooperate . She said she is calling about a county issue . What a scammer

Lana Carter called about 10 times in 3 day. I caved and answered the phone. She wanted to speak to my husband. She needed a statement from him and verify his SS#. She threatened to file legal action if he didn't call back

Ignore her.  She's got a history on 800notes.com.   This person is a real piece of work.  She'll call people and say she's the District Attorney.  Pretend to be a police officer.  Threaten to "serve" you with papers.   Aggressive type.  Block her calls.  Do not talk to her.  Do not return her calls. DO NOT GIVE HER ANY INFORMATION. THERE"S NO WAY THEY WILL  FILE ANY LEGAL ACTION AGAINST YOU. Their main interest is scaring you into giving them money.  Don't do it! If she does call you, tell her you know it's a scam and she isn't getting dime number one!.  Tell her loudly!

Fraudulent or Zombie Debt Collectors—Things to Know

1. You have defrauded a financial institution
2. You owe an unpaid payday loan
3. You have a warrant due to an unpaid loan
5. You will receive a court summons
6.  Authorities are coming to arrest you
7.  Anything similar to above,
