I have a letter that says it is about a survey from the US Department of State Bureau of Consular Affairs, Passport Services stating that they are trying to randomly survey Americans about travel behavior.

The website listed on the letter they sent me ends in .com not .gov.  It's a weak effort at a phoshing scam.

Received a letter today requesting to go to www.pssports.com to complete a survey online.it is from the United States Department of State in Washington DC there is no other address there is also a phone number I can call (888) 978-5755 to be interviewed by phone. This is obviously a scam if they don't even have return address.

Got the same letter as well. The seal on the letter is incomplete without showing the United State Government in the bottom and the Department of the State on top of the seal. Here is the info on the web-sit: http://website.informer.com/passportplanning.com#tab_stats

I got the same letter today. They promise that if I don't call them in the next couple of  weeks that they will call me.
Not much chance that I will answer that call. The web site in my letter is passportstudy.

Got this same letter with 43 cent postage on it!  Not an official government survey if they had to put postage on it.  The website they want me to go to is a dot com not a dot gov..  Obvious it is a svam.

I Got the same letter.  There is an address on the back of the envelope: "PO Box 90730/Allentown,Pa 18109-0730".  This address relates back to a company named "Survey Technology & Research Center".  The Better Business Bureau gives this company an "F" rating.

If they are impersonating a Government Agency, then take the letter and the envelope it came in to the post office and have them forward it to the postal inspectors.  I am wondering why they are listing an address in Allentown when they are located in Media, which is over an hour away according to Google maps.

It says nothing about travel behavior.  The letter says it is about inproving customer service, sufficient personnel and develop new products.  Very inconsistant and deceiving.

I called the actual U.S. Department of State - The Office of Passport Services regarding the letter I received today.  They DID NOT send this letter out.  The website they give in this letter - www.passportplanning.com is a third party website, per Passport Services.  Throw the letter out.

I got the letter also. Good thing I read the other posts, now I know what to do with the letter. It is going right to the postal inspectors.
