called from another number and said that I would be issued a summons if I did not call this 888-980-8267 number, about a complain and they gave me a case number.  I recall the same thing happening to my sister years ago, and it was a bogus thing, something about her social security number.  they have called before and left no message.

they stated that in 2 hours thay were going to send a sheriff to pick my son up. also called first from 305-417-6255 and 988-625-0370

They called my ex's 89 year old grandmother.

Just tried this on my girlfriend and daughter. 888-980-8267 ,
Said she had 2 hours or summons would be placed and she would face $3000.00 in Court Fees. Wanted credit card for $250.00. The guy stated his name as Blake Robinson. Used the Check Into Cash and a bill from 2004!

They called my brother reporting the same thing, that I would be issued a summons if I didnt call back and that it was a sheriff. Total BS. Sheriffs KNOW how to get ahold of you. I want to find out who this POS bill collector is and make sure they are reported!

Same kind of call from same number about 2 hours ago, however they asked for my wife's sone in law by name. He later called them back and they immediately informed him of a 2 hour summons would be placed and he would face $3000. in court fees. wanted  credit card for $250.00. He did not state his name but used the case check into cash and a bill from 2005.  This is all BS and my wife's son in law has  been informed.  They did say they were a sherriff deputy.

Same thing happened to me about 4 hours ago...same name number and same 2 hour message scare. This s really not funny at all. What can we all do about this?

Same thing happened to me a couple of hours ago.  Someone called from that 305 417 6255 number for my sister.  After I stated that I was not my sister the guy goes on to say that the sheriff office has made two attempts to deliver legal documents.  I asked him what company he was from and he never told me.  He just said that if she didn't call 1 888 980 8267 and gave him her case number that she could face bigger fines.  I told him I wasn't delivering the message b/c the sheriffs office knows how to locate any and everybody, especially since we live in a very small town. He then goes on to say that he would put a two hour hold on the sheriffs office coming back out since he spoke to me.  I told him that wasn't my problem and hung up the phone.  I was pissed b/c he couldn't answer any of my general questions, but yet he was basically reading me my rights like I was the person he needed to talk to.  I called the 1 888 980 8267 number and the guy was much nicer.  I gave him my sister's case number, but he said he couldn't tell me anything b/c of the privacy laws.  I told him I understood and we hung up on good terms.  I called the 305 417 6255 number back and a answering service picked up.  Clearly it's a debt collector.  I hate when I'm harrassed by bill collectors for my family and friends and they always seem to catch me while I'm at work!! #AGGRAVATED

Had a call from a person claiming to be "Chris Howard" with the sheriff's office from Florida (phone number was 305-417-6255... but I don't even live in Florida, nor have I ever been there), saying that I was being issued with a summons and needed to call this number (1-888-980-8267) with a case number for more details.

Very shady.

The person on the phone refused to give me any details and just hung up when I said that this doesn't sound right.

I am a bill collector of 20yrs now. And I am appalled at this company T&H Financial Firm, John Murdock 1-888-980-8267 ext 204... I also teach the FDCPA (Fair Debt Collections Practices Act) at the company I work for... and I have never witnessed the outright intentional violation of consumers rights; as this company did today.

They called my husbands cell phone and gave him the same spill they give everybody else; Sheriff department, 2 hours, Payday Loan from 2004, 3k in court fees, credit card for $200.00 to make it go away....

These people and this company are in violation of at least the following:

1) Misleading and deceptive practices
2) Failure to give the Mini Miranda
3) False sense of urgency
4) Demands for monetary amounts that are not contractually legal
5) Failure to send the consumer a written notice of the debt  

And so on !!!!!!!! A good Attorney needs to start a class action lawsuit... if so please contact me at neicyr@yahoo.com

305-417-6255 called My husband asking for his sister, we live in two totally different states, said that the sheriffs office was looking for her to serve her "some papers" and that they had attempted to contact her twice already and that she needed to call that 888 number and gave a case number. the woman was very rude!

This happened to us last weekend 4/27/13.  The company 888-980-8267 called & spoke to my husbands mom who relayed message to us.  We had had trouble in the past and had thought it might be related to that, husband called the company back, they sounded legit because they had our case information, etc. so we gave them our CC# to clear it up...didn't want any more troubles, we are trying to get things back on track again.  Same people called again 5/1/13 and talked to his dad who apparently asked too many questions and the company/guy got rude with him.  Dad relayed message to us again.  I Googled phone number to get company info for complaint and found all these horrible scam messages.  I called my CC company to file fraud.  CC Company said that I am not alone, the company is using public records and collections notices to find us then giving us the story and people are falling for it because we just don't want any more troubles.  Now we have more troubles with cancelling cards, etc.  Thank you all for posting and sharing your stories!  It helped me and my husband stop the mess from getting bigger!

All the same crap. I called them yelling saying debt collectors can't identify themselves as the sheriffs dept then I was transferred to "supervisor". I should have stuck w/ my gut instinct but let the woman named Elizabeth calm me down & talk me into monthly payments.  :-( Just called & canceled my card & disputed the  $34.?? Charge!!! Bunch of bull!!

Same crap just happened to me..same story too

My mother received a call looking for me. I live in a different state and haven't lived at home for over 15 years. They told her that I needed to contact 1-888-980-8267 and reference my case# to avoid further action. My mom naturally worried called me to let me know. I googled the 888# and found all of your WONDERFUL comments. I advised my mom to HANG UP on them if they call back. This is sometype of SCAM!!!!

this just happened to me an hour ago.....i called verizon afterwards, they said they were working for verizon and that i had an outsanding bill. nope,,,,,,just losers with no jobs scamming hardworking people.....what can we do about this???? said they would send cops to my house.....frank dalton was his name....
