I got a call from this number earlier tonight and it was telling me that there was a recall of Excedrin Migraine medication I'd purchased from Sam's Club.  I had no idea there'd be records of my purchases over the years, but it dated back to 03/05/07.  I tried to write everything down, but it went so fast I couldn't get all the information.  It did say to take the unused meds, a bottle label, or my receipt back to Sam's Club for a refund.

I received the same call, three times in a row. The Excedrin must not have been too dangerous as we ingested it well before four years passed!  Who on earth would still have a receipt from 2007? For all I know, this company could be drumming up business for a class action lawsuit, for which you would receive a nickle and the firm would rake in millions. We seemed to suffer no harm, which is good, and I'm sure Excedrin has had the scare of its life!

I received a call to return the Excedrin that I purchased at Wall Mart. What kind of scam are they trying to pull? I want to know how they got my name and telephone number. I purchased Tylenol the day before at Wall Mart. I checked with the drug department and the Tylenol is ok and not on recall. Can't the FCC stop this crap?

There has been a recall of Excedrin, Bufferin, No Doze, and Gas-Ex tablets made at the Novartis facility in Lincoln, Nebraska.

    http://www.novartis-otc.com/otc/index.html

The problem is contamination.  There have been over 200 reports of tablets in the wrong bottle over the last few years.  If you shop at a store that keeps a record of your purchases the call is probably real.

BTW - there is no such thing as a "voluntary recall".  The recall was mandated by the FDA.  As in "You recall these products or we'll start arresting executives".

I know a couple of people who work for Novartis in Lincoln.  They are working 16-hour days to fix the manufacturing and packaging problems that lead to the recall.
