- SWRWOW. They won't give up. I blocked them a long time ago, but my phone still rings once showing their number. GIVE UP. I'm not answering.
- Sharlene Berryhill| 1 replyPlease stop all these calls to my home phone. I now receive robot calls as early as 7:00 am and as late as 8:30 pm. I even get these annoying calls on Saturday and Sundays multiple times throughout the day and night! I no longer have any items to donate nor will I ever donate to NAMI again because the agency is very annoying! I have block thus number but it still wakes me up early in the morning! Final warning before I seek professional help to stop the calls! October 19, 2016 at 12:29 pm.

- Slim replies to Sharlene BerryhillPlease realize that:
» Your post here will NOT stop the calls. We did not call you. Your caller probably does not read these messages. We cannot block calls to you. We cannot put you on or take you off the list. We do not know who you are, and we do not know your phone number!Click_This_Line_for_Info_About_the_DNC_ListThe National Do Not Call list is respected by legitimate telemarketers, but is ignored by criminal telescammers.
Surveys, charities, political calls, NON-sales calls and certain preexisting business calls are exempt from the DNCL.
Business phones do not qualify for DNCL protection.Click_This_Line_for_Info_About_800Notes_PurposeFind out who is calling and why: Debt collectors, telemarketers, charities, and survey companies often call without leaving a message. Lookup the number to read the previous reports of other users.
Report telemarketing calls: Make the Do Not Call list offenders notice the problem by reporting their practices. No business wants bad publicity.
Report phone fraud: Did someone try to scam you? Reporting the number is the fastest way to make public aware, and prevent others from falling victim to the scam.
Check out a business: Read other users' feedback about the phone number owner.
»YOU are your own best defense against unwanted calls! You can use a call blocking app, device, service or procedure to block such calls.Click_This_Line_for_Methods_to_Block_CallsHere are some tried and true methods for reducing or eliminating repeated spam / scam phone calls:
1. Do not answer the phone if you see an unknown number on your Caller ID ... let it go to answering machine or voicemail. Many telescammers hang up after three or four rings.
2. If you have a smartphone, get one of the inexpensive or free call blocker apps at your online app store, and learn how to use it.
3. If your cell is not "smart", read the manual to learn how to set up a "group". Assign the scammer's phone number to that group. Also assign a "silent ring" to that group. You will not hear future calls from that number.
3a. Alternately, assign a "silent ringtone" as the DEFAULT ringtone. Then, assign your favorite ringtones to friends, family, contacts, businesses, etc. That way, you will not hear your phone ring, even if the scammer changes numbers! (This is also called "whitelisting", and will cause you to miss calls from non-whitelisted numbers, so be careful!)
4. For cell phones or landlines: Contact your phone service provider. They may have a facility or method to allow you to block numbers.
5. For landlines: there are several call blocking devices and services available. Use your favorite search engine to find one.
6. DO NOT call unknown numbers back without checking who called (800notes is your friend)! All that does is verify your number is "live". Instead, read this:

- Lynn BradfordReceive calls from them at least four times a day, and no one comes on the line. I called back and told them not to call me again. If this is NAMI, I have given them donations before, but I do not like being harassed. I don't have the time to answer the phone four or five times a day, only to have a dead line when I answer.
- Caller: NAMI
- Call type: Non-profit organization
- LS BoboYou have to answer the 901-758-2010 by the second ring or they have moved on to the next call. I did answer in time last week and a truck was to be on my street today. It's 5:00 PM and NO ONE ever showed up. This is the second time this has happened. 8 boxes and 3 large bags of clothing and household goods are sitting in my carport. I even got the call last night verifying the pick-up. Let's see how successful I am now at being REMOVED from the NAMI call list.

- Call type: Silent call
- Memphis JoeNAMI is not a "collection agency," as in debt collectors. What they "collect" is donated items, such as old clothes. Presumably they sell these in the thrift store to make money. They're highly annoying and possibly fraudulent, but they're not collecting bad debts.
- Caller: NAMI
- Call type: Non-profit organization
- BrianNAMI accepts clothing donations and have been calling me for years. They are annoying but they’re not a collection agency or a scam.

- JOESame as all the above EXCEPT the Park Avenue Thrift Store as of 1-20-22 has been out of business for 3-4 years and the phone number 901-458-2010 in addition to be showing as the number for NAMI-Memphis is also registered to one Regina Peete in Brownsville Tn. per USAPHONEBOOK so perhaps there's some 'spoofing' going on here...very annoying...
