Caller asked for my Father by name, I told the caller that he passed away 3 years ago, the caller quickly apologized then hung up on me. Not very professional whoever they are.

The caller claimed to be from Ally Financial to collect payment for my car loan.
They called at 1:37PM on 1/3/2017 & the caller ID came up as "Ally Financial 904-886-5292".
I received this call at work and the caller knew what vehicle I drove, although they only knew my first name- they got the last name wrong.

They called numerous times. I called them back. Its Allied Financial. I dont have a loan with them. They could not provide me any information. What a waste of time.

Strange call: The caller asked if she was talking to (my full legal name, which I rarely use.) I said yes and asked who was calling. Instead of answering, she played a recording saying they were recording the call, which I did not give my permission to do. The caller then asked if I knew how to reach another who they named, with the same last name. When I said I didn't know the person, she said she must have the wrong number, and she hung up. I tried calling back to learn who called. When you call this 800#, they ask you to enter your social security number. Are they collecting info for identity theft?
