Did not receive a call but did receive an obviously bogus letter and check. The letterhead is Star Financial Inc. 885 Progress Ave, Toronto, ONT with the above phone number. There were spelling errors "price" instead of "prize"

I got the same letter from Star Financial Inc. July 12th 2009.I made 3 calls the people had foreign accents and were curt and rude. Just make the deposit and call them back they kept saying! I'm calling my BBB Monday in CT. Its a scam!

Did not recieve a call, but did recieved a letter and check in the amount of 3,950.00.  Check is drawn on the Bank of America and the holder is UNI.F.PRODUCTS INC, 2801 EAST BELTINE NE GRAND RAPIDS, MI 49525. Letter says that I have won, $125,000.00.  This check is a dedution from my total winnings.  This is to enable you to pay for applicatle taxes on your winning price.  The tax amount is 3,550.00, to be pay either by moneygram or westernunion..  They also went on the say "please do not attempt to use this check until you contact your claim agent, Mr Phillip Adams at tel: 1-905-783-5545."  What they want me to do is deposit the check and then send them the tax payment, and then they will send me the my winnings.  Once you deposit the check, and get the money, the check comes back "BAD" and you are stuck repaying the bank for the money.  Big scam.....No big winner....only loser....you or me if we fall for it.
