I got this marketing call a week earlier from a different telephone number. If I am not mistaken, it was a fundraiser for police or just a scam. I don't know. I recognized them by the noises they left on my answering machine. They seem to like to call on Sundays.

Considering that most fundraiser calls stating they are "for the Police", that are not outright scams, are from PACs (lobbyists) it pretty much makes it a scam call either way.  The PAC claims that a donation will aid the family of a fallen Police Officer, or help get medical care for a wounded officer are just hot air.  None of the money they collect goes even close to helping people on a personal level; it is used to try to influence politicians to work on legislation to (supposedly) benefit Law Enforcement Members (sometime, in the future, should it get passed, which will take even more donations...)
