BLOCKED!

Robo voicemail left. Medical Alert. Whoever buys stuff from these jackals, please stop. If no one buys from them they will stop calling us all. Seriously. If you need something they are selling buy it elsewhere. You will probably get a better price to boot.

robocall on my landline from  914-425-9896 caller ID said "UNKNOWN NAME" on Friday 7-22-16 @ 1221 PM

message started out - "hello Senior.....we have a free medical alert system ......we received info from a friend or family member.......press1
male SCAMMER came on the line "this is Kirk my number is 286 who am I speaking to?"
told the SCAMMER "this is Bill (not right name).
male Scammer said "Hello, Bill" and asked  "are you familiar with the medical alert system?"
told the SCAMMER "yes, I am."
male SCAMMER said "sounds like you are familiar with the system."
told SCAMMER "yes, I am familiar with you SCAMMERS trying to steal peoples money"
Scammer started saying "well, I guess there is nothing.......I then started the SCAMMER AIRHORN.
after 10 seconds paused it - I asked "are you still there SCAMMER?"
he started to respond but I never let them talk without immediately starting up the SCAMMER AIRHORN again.
paused again and he had already hung up

I repeatedly get calls from this number and there is a system on my home phone that blocks robo calls, so this is blocked after two rings thank goodness.  I love the suggestion about the air horn!!!!

Telemarketer trying to sell Personal Medical Alert Systems. Just block their number

Criminal scammer selling medic alert device. They are in violation of the DNC listing, but criminals do not care about breaking the law. Unfortunately the DNC list is not a call blocker. My blocker has a 1200 entry black list which they are now on.

Just got a call from this # a few minutes ago. Same message as others have posted about a "free" medical alert device. Right, the only thing that's free about this scam is the money these scumbags would get if I was stupid enough to fall for it.

This scammer has called me before and I blocked the number then.  Now they have called again and when I tried to block their current number my call block service reads it as my OWN number and not their number.  So cannot block this 914-425-9896 number or call it back as a recording says the call cannot be completed that the number is not valid.   HOW DO YOU STOP THIS CRAP????

Medical alert scam, as the rest have said. 2nd call today.

So, when do we as consumers rise up and hold our phone companies responsible and bring these rampant calls targeting the most vulnerable of us to an end?

Got a call on my cellphone that started  "Hello seniors..." There was no need to hear anymore so I cut the call and they are now blocked

Call saying a friend or family member gave them my info for some product...stopped listening at that point.

Received a call from 914-425-9896, CallerID showing only the phone number. Blocked call while still ringing using my call blocker device. Looks like this is a new number put into use by spammers. "First time caller, longtime listener." LOL

I know that some people like to answer these calls, either to give the telemarketer an earful, or blast their eardrums with an airhorn, or to demand that your phone number be removed from their call list. None of these are effective in the long term because some of the robocalls take note of which calls actually got through and these numbers are marked as valid phone numbers. I believe this is true even if they just get your voicemail or answering machine. My suggestion is to block the caller without answering, whether you use your phone service's features or a call blocker device. This way, the caller never reaches your voicemail to leave a message (if they are so inclined - some just hang up).
