    Mr.Bob
Just got a call from that number, on my cell.  Although I didn't know the number, I answered anyway because I'm expecting calls from numbers I don't know (responses to job applications).

It was a robot call, speaking Spanish, and I hung up.

I got a call from this number tonight as well.
Please remember that many telemarketers like this use computers to generate numbers.  They may plug in an area code and 2 or 3 digits of a phone number and the computer does the rest.  So for example they might plug in 25 as the first 2 digits within a given area code.  The computer then goes to work 250 - 0000, 250 - 0001, 250 - 0002, etc  That's how they get cell phones and all kinds of stuff.  The computer does the dialing and anytime something picks up (including a machine) the call is forwarded to an operator.  That's why there is often a delay between when you answer the phone and somebody actually says hi back.  The operator screens whether its a not in service recording, answering machine, real person, etc.
Technically the computer is supposed to check these numbers against the do not call list and filter them out.  That said there are a million exceptions to the do not call list and most companies are probably using out of date versions of it.
Anyway, just don't answer these calls.  If you say hi and then hang up you will end up in the rotation because likely you were marked as "got disconnected/call back" so your phone will ring again.

Okay first of all. I received a call from the number in question. The message I received was "Due to the fact I am such a valued customer, I have been specially choosen to receive 2500.00 in free travel credits. Just press one to be connected to an agent." I myself am a little bit of a prankster so when I get a call from such a number I go out of my way to screw with these twerps. The first question I am asked is if I am of over the age of 25. I answered yes. The next request was a credit card number to verify my age...... Okay now I KNOW THIS IS A SCAM!!!!!! So in the nature of my malicious trickery. I inform them that they have contacted a lawyer and that I wish to know who they are employed by. At which point they hang-up. I am not sure if they are going to call back but I am going to contact my local police fraud investigation squad and give them the number. because I figure one good turn deserves another...... Instead of ignoring the calls take them F--K with thier undeveloped sense of right and wrong. Make them the victim not yourself. After all people are going to continue this kind of behaviour untill they get caught or untill they realize that people are smartening up and won't tolerate this kinda of crap!!!!!!

I just received a call from 920-999-2928 for the first time today. The only place I recently give my number was to the RiteAid store to sign up for rewards. I hope this is not related.

I've suspected this also. I have three prepaid phones with Virgin Mobile. Once in a while I get telemarketing calls, on two of my Rumor2 phones. These phones are set to block Incoming and Outgoing calls, except those on my allow list. But these telemarketing calls are the ONLY ones that get through with not problems! Very suspicious to me.

I just got two calls from this number tonight too, but on two different phones. One on my cell at 7:19pm and the other on my VoIP line at 5:34pm. Both lines are T-Mobile numbers xxx-271-yyyy and xxx-496-yyyy. I always give out my Google Voice numbers, so except for family, no one has our real numbers.

this number called my cell phone and my husbands. They are "spoofing" using computer software, so you cannot trace the call. They are scam artists. the guy sounded Indian and are probably calling from the country of India. We have received these calls for 1 year. I have filed complaints with FTC and FCC, and Attorney Generals. successful in getting 1 scam sued, througfh the New York Attorney General. They call and threaten us to be arrested if we don't pay them $2900 for a $200 payday loan. They have hacked into payday loan companies on the internet to get personal information. Evidently the New York operation sold our personal information to another scam and the mental abuse continues. I don't know how they got our cell phone numbers. It is frustrating these people are getting by with it. i even answered my phone and told them the FBI are on to them and they still called my back 32 times that night. They are very arrogant and think they are immune from ther law.

For the calls that are like this, where its automated not much you can do but block, but for regular "human" telemarketers can't you answer and ask them to remove your number from their list?

to the young girl..... the last thing you want to do is keep something like this from your parents, tell them, they're not idiots, and they love you, if this was a harmful and harrassing phone call you want to be protected.... later you'll think that was silly why was i afraid to tell my parents.   theres nothing you can do about it, they call anybody.

it is irritating to get these messages, I too am job searching, waiting for calls back, but I have a tracfone, a prepaid cheap-o, so everytime i was 1 second on these losers it takes a whole minute, its not worth my time and money.
