they call of all the time, sometimes 5-7 times within a couple of hours.
They always hang up and leave no message.
When I answered, they requested my name and address.
    I gave them nothing,

I just changed my phone number a couple days ago, didn't give the number to anyone and the first call I get today is from this 1-925-738-0264. I am working late and received very annoying calls from telemarketers on my previous phone number. I am registered with the National Do Not Call Registry but those calls don't seem to stop.

This is Washington Mutual (WaMu).  I have a WaMu card and just missed a payment (oof!) and got a call from this number.  I answered and just heard this recorded voice say "I have a call coming in."  I hung up - one of my pet peeves is when people call and make me hold or answer questions before I know who they are.  Anyway, I found this number on a Yahoo Answers post as the number to WaMu, and it all made sense.

You say the number (925)-738-0264 is a MAMU phone number? I have received over 6 phone calls a day, for over 2 weeks form this number. Did you ever find out what they wanted?

    Thanks

They people called me last Friday, yesterday, and today! A recording leaves an 1-800 number and a web address: www.wamucanhelp.com. I don't know why the hell they're calling me; I don't owe them any money and I paid off my credit card before I closed all my accounts with them. I went to the website, and they want you to type in your account number and SSN so you can log in. I ain't doing that sh**. I bet it's some type of scam. Whoever they REALLY are, they are annoying the hell out of me! Stop calling me dammit! Oh and they also called from another number: (925) 738-0260

It is Washington Mutual.  Freakin' idiots, I swear.  Says the call is coming out of California, but it is actually a call center in India.  Told the lady not to call me back unless it was actually someone calling me from Cali, not India.

This robo-call from WaMu calls 6-8 times a day every day, not excluding Sundays or Holidays.  If you have had or currently have a WaMu card or Mortgage, you are a likely recipient.   If you have fallen behind in your payments, you are a definate recipient.  The reason they call even if you are on the do not call list is becaause there are certain loopholes, such as applying for credit with one of their affiliates, asking for evaluation for a credit change or increase, as well as not opting out with them specifically when you are or were one of their account holders.  If you have a new phone number, it is not on the do not call list and is subject to marketing calls until you put it on the list.  If your new number has not been retired very long, the old user of the number may have been a WaMu coustomer so the robo-call operation already has the number on file anyway.  Once you get to a live operator, have the patience to take their name, write down time of day, ask them for an address which you may contact in order to opt out, and tell them that in accordance with federal law they must stop calling you.  It could take up to 8 weeks to be removed from their automated call system, so be prepared to deal with the annoyance a while longer, but note that if the calls do not stop, and you are registered on the do-not-call list, and you have verbally given them notice, you have to take the time to write the company, and speaking for myself, I usually flash a copy off to the FCC with a complaint.  They have a website for this sort of thing, and it's not so much trouble to copy the text of the written letter onto their complaint form online.  When I mail the opt out in writing, I send it with a postal delivery confirmation that has to be signed.
