Spamster calling my cellphone, did not answer, very annoying. Isn't there a law forbidding spam calls to cellphones?

I got call from this number but I didn't answer and they left no message. My is an unlisted number stop calling me

Didn't answer because I didn't recognize the number.  Looks like phone spam.  Going on my block list, which is getting huge!

Called my cell number twice.  Checked 800notes before the second call so didn't bother answering.

Caller hung up without saying anything. Stupid credit card scammers.

Call came on my cell (I'm on a no call list....what good it does still stumps me),  Didn't recognize the #, so didn't answer. Message left about my credit card and urgent that I need to talk with them about my interest rate but said there was no problem with the card.  Oh here we go again......these "damn" credit card scam artist!!!  Feel like if it's Rachel, I know her from before.....Blocked the #.

This post has two parts.  The =second= is for people who are interested in the realities of the Do Not Call list.  The =first= is for people who have difficulty understanding long explanations, but think the DNC list does not work.

1)
The DNC list is not a magic switch attached to your phone line, that will block calls.

The DNC list is intended to help stop calls originating from legitimate telemarketers.
* Your calls were not from legitimate telemarketers.
* Therefore, the DNC list will not stop those calls.

2)
The DNC list does not automatically block calls.  Instead, it provides a list of  "do not call" phone numbers to legitimate, registered telemarketers who pay a fee for the list.

The DNC list exempts political callers, survey organizations,  charities, and companies with preexisting business relationships, as well as debt collectors, but these organizations might have their own, internal Do Not Call list (ask them).

The DNC list is not effective against criminals, spammers and scammers, because those people do not subscribe to the DNC list, and do not care if you are on or off that list.
Its purpose is to stop calls from legitimate telemarketers, and it does a pretty good job at that.  Just think ... if there were no DNC, you would be receiving incessant calls from BOTH legitimate and scam telemarketing callers!

If you receive calls even after reporting them (and waiting a sufficient time), then you should consider using a call blocker app, device or service as your first line of defense.  Google "call blocker" to see such things at Amazon or other sites.

Yup, another credit card scammer.

Got one just now.  Blocked the number.  This is annoying.

Pressed 1 and asked to be out on DNC list. Was hung up on. Call back says number not in service.

Yep, "Rachael" is back again with the same old song & dance (exactly the same recording used for years) about lowering the interest rate on my current credit cards.  She doesn't tell you it's for an exorbitant FEE and there is no guarantee.  They cannot do anything to better your interest rate than you can yourself.  It all depends on your credit record and the company you have a contract with.  THIS IS A TOTAL ILLEGAL SCAM.  The FTC shut down a couple of these operations already but obviously there's money to be made from some poor suckers out there.  DON'T BE A SUCKER!

Random number, I didn't answer... I will vote for the next president who promises to crack down on robo calls!!! I don't care who he/she is I just want a politician to do us some good!

8/5/14 - Called and said nothing or left voice mail.

I got this call from (931) 864-7896 at 15:33 today.
I didn't answer and they didn't leave a message.
I am on the do NOT call reg.
This scammer/spammer needs stopped.

I was getting calls from credit services a year or so back, and now they're calling again. I put them on my reject list. I didn't miss these jerks calling me! GRRR.

i just got a call today 2 times and 5 times yesterday from this number here 931 8647896 and when i answered it they dont say a word and when u call back they say this nymber dont exsist try and  redial the number again .who is tha and what do these people want .

How is it legal to call out on a line but the number is longer in service?

Since when doesnt the FCC do their job?  I get calls from all over the US both on my cell and regular house phone and they're all from Rachael at card services.
