Called and didn't leave a message. Caller ID showed Orange County CA.

Caller/ recording  said they were looking for auto repair shops to take on extra work in our area.

Called our shop and left a message after 7 PM (why would they think anyone's here that late?) about looking for automotive shops to take on extra work.    Either telemarketer or scammer, suspect it's an online listing or yellow page listing scam.  They're in California, I'm about a thousand miles away, so how are they going to bring in extra business to me?  Added to blocked list.

Left a message after 7, all that the message picked up was the last 4 digits of their number and a man's voice saying "I look forward to your call." Reverse lookup saw it's a CA number, and based on other comments I'm guessing it's a scammer.

called and left a message after 7:30 p.m., one thing two know if my shop would be interested and taking on Fleet Management type work. I have a small shop and I am definitely not interested. And why would he think I would be here after 7:30 is beyond me. I'm in Roanoke Virginia.

same line here. .called 2x with same BS pre-recorded bullship . . .i live in orange county...trust me..it is a scammer

They always make a point to generate these calls after hours and see who calls back. Don't do it! Once they capture your number calling, even if you hang up, it will be sold off to others. Then you have many more nuisance calls every day.

Called our shop at 7:52 pm and left message that "Alan" need to talk to the owner about some work.  Could not find Alan or his phone number in our database as having recent work done.  Did not call back due to finding this number here and it's apparently a scam.

Alan at 949-478-6885 left a message at 7:12pm asking for the owner to call him that it was serious and i (being the secretary returned his call and he said "the owner needs to call him back that he has been burned in the past and that if the owner did not want to do business with him not to call back..." and he hung up on me after i asked how he heard from us (rude).

Called about 7:45ish asking for the owner of the store (Advanced Auto) to call him back. Message sounded pre-recorded. He was asking about some work.

same exact scenario...called after hours..."if we can handle more work call Alan".  Thanks to these posts I will NOT waste my time calling him back.

Alan Called Our store at 7:52 PM stating the same thing! Funny though we are a flooring store IN COLORADO!!!  TOTAL SCAM!!!

Alan called after hours and telling me how he was impressed with the work my shop did for others. He wanted to know if we were interested in "new" work. SInce he called after hours, i simply sent him a text saying, not interested, and please remove me from your call list.

same thing ,, total idiot , left a message at 8.30 pm , call him up and in few seconds i hang up

Alan left a message after 7pm and asked if we wanted to take on extra work and that we have a good reputation. After seeing these posts, I'm not calling back either. Thank you all for getting the word out.

Called, said he had heard great things about my work and if I was willing to take on anymore.

Same thing with us.  Called @ 7:49PM saying he heard we did great work and if we needed more work to call him which I did not.  We are in North Dakota.  Thanks for posting, it helps everyone.  Placed on the do not call list.

Now, they're targeting law firms with the same bs - "We've heard great things about your firm and wanted to know if you could take on some extra matters?" or words to the effect

We have been getting repeated calls from this number, all automated and all partial messages. (as in the last 5 digits of their phone number). After reading this, I wonder why a small East coast based business would do business with a west coast auto shop? Especially if we don't even have a fleet.
It sounds like they bought a bum list and put it on auto-dial.
