You are probably of interest to the Local Law Enforcement Division, fbi, nsa ect... That is why it only rings once, look up "STINGRAY DEVICE" They gather all the information neccessary with only one ring, sometimes it doesn't even have to ring on your end. Also just as prevalent is that they 'accidentaly' let it ring too long and when someone answers that's when they play thier games with a gift card winner offer, car insurance offers, heavy breathing ect... Do you doubt this - Google it!  watch some youtube news clips about it, EDUCATE YOURSELF!!

You should never give out personal information to anyone you do not know.  If the prize was free I would have said send me the prize and have a good day.  Watch your card statement or online account activity, if you have that option, for unauthorized charges.

Remember, unless you know who you are dealing with, do not give out any personal information over the phone....ever.

Rang once, hung up. Probably some automated machine to see which phones are still active to then be used/sold to telemarketers.

I'm supposed to be on the 'do not call list', yet I still received this telemarketing call!

read wtf a stingray is! its a "cell site/tower simulator" it has nothing to do with this thread people. "." simple, nada, nothing!

Stingray's are in FACT a cell tower simulator. BUT that is only 1 thing it is. the STINGRAY DEVICE is used for much much more than just acting as a cell tower simulator. The device can place calls on a random call generator given a search criteria when being used while connected to a computer. It can then snoop all of your data after only one ring, which includes your phone info including but not limited to pictures, texts, location, essentially ALL phone data. The stingray is generally connected to a computer and works in coordination with computer programs that will retrieve phone images, texts all phone info ect... but the hush hush device that you should really be afaid of is the Hailstorm device it is a very secretive tech gadget used by law enforcement and military that can do everything in one contained unit and does not need the additional use of a computer to snoop the phone info like the stingray does.
So either you really are not to bright or not too educated on the subject, so as the other poster said 'educate yourselves'.
OR maybe you are a disinfo psy op butt turd. Either way the other poster who mentioned the stingray device is probably responsible may be right....

Same as the rest of you.  Rang twice, they hung up before I could answer.  A scam for sure.

Caller ID says the number is from California. One ring and a hang up. I never answer numbers I do not recognize! These scammers are getting out of control!

So is there anything we can do other than pray to keep ourselves from being cellular info victims?  Any suggestions would be a blessing.  Thank you for taking the time to explain it in such detail.  I really do appreciate the information.  I just hope there is more out there to help us keep our information safe.
