Claiming there collections co. And asked me for my s s number and the girl raised her voice so I hung up

Claiming collections, I answered, and pushed one to find out what this was for and came across the RUDEST lady that I have ever encountered.  This account was cleared up years ago, I even have paper work for it.  She said I could fax it, fine asked if I had a pen 6 times, I answered yes, then she started yelling.  So I got angry and said just give me the fax number.  she said never mind we will just move forward.

They are fishing for info. Scam, scam scam with a side of SCAM!! You won't tell me who you are or where your calling from because I won't give you my SS#??? Had to hang up!! One of the quickest calls of my LIFE!!!!

This number, along with other numbers like this, continue to call claiming debt . I had one last week that said someone was going to show up Thursday as I was on "his" schedule, but they never showed. Hmmmm...not surprised. They ask for verification of ss# but can't provide any info to you until you do so? Normal debt collection requires written attempt and being served papers (IN PERSON). Anyone in their right mind, and who knows better, would never give all or even a portion of their ss# over the phone. I Google every number that calls. How in the world do we get these people to stop?!!!

Got a call from this # claiming they have an "Important legal matter to discuss" and a threat of legal action if I didn't call right away. Since I'm not involved in any disputes I assumed it's a scam. I have no intention to call them back - I heard some of these #'s charge exorbitant fees by the minute! Looking at this site confirmed my felling - it is a SCAM. How do we shut down these scumbags?
