FOund a same card on my door with no note on it except case #.

This is a car repossession company for capital one auto finance.  They cant find my ex spouses car up for repo so they came calling on me.  Violators of the Fair Credit Collection Act.  They will harass you even if the person they are looking for is not in the same state as you.  B. Hamilton, Investigator License # A 1100056

For purposes of clarification for future posters/readers.  There is no "Fair Credit Collection Act".  There is a Fair Credit Reporting Act and the Fair Debt Collections Practices Act.  Neither of which apply in this case since this is an original creditor.

Did you ever call the number

I got one of these just today in Winter Haven. Police here said it sounds like a scam

A business card was placed on my car as well... overnight... I left my house this morning around 5:45am and that’s when I found it. No call... just a card. I don’t want to call bc then they’ll have my number... but this is weird.

Got the same card in my mailbox, so obviously they have my address already. I called and got some weird vague voicemail saying “we are either on another call or not available” yadda yadda. It’s just a random white card with bold black letters saying “investigations unit” with investigator, then B. Hamilton & then license number A1100056 and some random “case number”. The card is quiet cheap and flimsy might I add. To the weirdos who go out of their way to do this bogus crap. NICE TRY SUCKA!

And yet again today, there were two of these cards left on our vehicle. This needs to stop! We don’t owe anyone any money except our mortgage company. Only lived here a little over a year now.

Now, if only you had learned to read numbers in school you could have posted that drivel in the correct thread.

Missing case number. The card has a coffee stain on it. I called the number, but of course noone picked it up, wanted me to leave a message with info. What is this about????
