I finally found out that this is Washinton Mutual trying to sell third party insurance. If you call the number back and listen to the recording, you'll beable to select from two different options that will remove your number from their calling bank. The second option, number 2, will prevent them from calling you for any reason except real problems with your account. Annoyingly, you'll have to enter your home telephone number afterward. Still sounds like a scam to me though. Very fishy. Why doesn't anybody ever answer when I answer the phone instead of letting the machine get it?

These people are very annoying. We have received numerous called every hour for several days and they will NOT leave a message on the recorder.

Always calling all through the day and night.  About 1 call per 90 mins.

3rd time today, 10:16am, 11:50am, and 3:52pm and that is after I called the number back and requested to be removed from list!!!!

They kept calling about 5 times a day for a week, so finally I answered just to get it over with.  After telling the woman I wasn't interested in the insurance program, she became quite rude and I had to hang up to keep from hearing any more insults. Ridiculous way to run a business.

I spoke to someone twice today from the same number and asked them to take my name off their list.  This guy, unlike the last woman, was very polite, but said it could take 30 days to process.  So, I guess I'll just have to put up with the constant ringing every hour. They've called 4 times today so far.

They were calling everyday 6x a day for 2weeks.  Early in the morning around 9 all the way until 6 at night.  On my only day off they called 3x in 2hrs.  I was so ticked off at that point that I picked up the phone and yelled "What? Can you please stop calling? I'm not interesetd in any of your offers" and hung up.  That did the trick.  They haven't called back since :)

Very annoying guys. They called me 5 times a day, every day. I hope they won't call again. It seems like scam. I didn't find this phone number in WAMU phones list.

They keep calling asking for my daughter and when she answers the phone they hang up! How annoying.

they call everyday ,i work at night and the only time i get to my sleep that the time they  keep on calling and annoying they dont leave amsg.i answered the phone once informed them am not interested but they keep on calling very annoying.

Received 3 calls over one week.  Each time I answered, they hung up immediately.  A Florida WAMU calling a Seattle-area number for ANY reason is dubious at best.  My guess is a spoofer/scammer.

Calls every day for a week sometimes a few times a day.  We never check our answering machine so they may or may not have left messages.  After coming here I called back and like one of the people above said, you can call back and select option 2 for taking you off of the call list.  Hopefully it works.

Called said he was with Washington Mutual.  Selling insurance!

We declined and he said he was referring us to another person to verify our bank information.

We hung up and .  .  .  Called Washington Mutual using the "Corporate Telephone Number" and asking for Security.  Spoke with "Risk Management".

It is a Scam! They are following up with the proper authorities.

I suppose the phone number and information was furnished by your credit card company. Who knows how much information was furnished? Well even if you close your account the company  do not return your application. But for sure I will never enter another J C Penny facility as long as I live. Would suggest that all Americans do the same. They only sell "stuff" from China, like about 90% of our so-called American retailers......This is not their first entry into extra-income seeking ventures...
