They called me twice, missed me the first time, male caller claimed to be with Wachovia. The second time, they asked for me by a name I haven't used in over TWO DECADES. I told them that that person hadn't existed in MANY years, after which the caller apologized for bothering me & hung up.

Odd thing, though: Although the CID says "Wachovia", and the caller claimed to be with Wachovia, reverse lookup indicates nothing about Wachovia; looks to be a private number in Hollywood, FL:

Frankly, I am VERY doubtful that these people are even who they claim to be and would be leery of giving them ANY personal information. If you're interested in doing business with Wachovia, call them or go into one of their branches.

They have called twice today!
That and another caller for AMEX. I dont have accounts with either company.
I have placed a few ads on Craigslist lately.
Not sure if they trying to put my information together.
I used my hotmail email address and my phone number is on the do not call list and not publicly listed. There needs to be a place to report these people!

I just got a call from this number and I actually DO my banking with Wachovia. However, I am just leery of getting calls from anyone I do not recognize or expect, so I did not pick up the call. Now, i find that all of these people have had a similar experience.

Have you ever noticed an increase is this kind of thing after you post on Craig's List?

Be careful. Their phone number comes up as Wachovia, Google the number and it is listed on Yellowbot as Wachovia, call the number it says you have reached Wachovia. Yellowbot is a Search Engine Optimizer. Anything listed there is suspect. Google address listed, it's a "virtual office". Any  call from 954-926-2847 is a SCAM. Google the real Wachovia for 800 number, or bother to go to your local office and make a report. You can also make a report to The Federal Trade Commission  ftc.gov and file a report. Save some vulnerable person from getting ripped off.

I have reported the Ftc.  Guessing they are inundated because I reported it some time back (when I checked  out their number on this site as a curiosity). Received a call from the fake wachovia this a.m.  I just finished calling Wachovia (Corporate) to report the matter.  I encourage others to put in the call to inspire them to take immediate action.  Sometimes it takes more than one report to do so.  They may not have the right bank but they do have my name and that's disturbing enough.  We may understand what's going on but there are many trusting people who would give up their account #.  That's why these guys are still in business.

They are calling me daily now.

They call me every day more than 5 time how can I stop this. Now they call and hang up. I wlling be calling Wachovia now.

When you get a phone call from one of these fake Wachovia numbers, remember to report it to the real Wachovia #, as one helpful poster had mentioned above @ 1-800-WACHOVIA.  If you want to have a real eye-opener as to who the people at this fake Wachovia # likely are, please take a look at the posts on this site under 800-572-5848.  Is this really the kind of people anyone wants to talk to, esp. to have your personal and banking information?  Anyone getting calls from this or any other of these fake "Wachovia" numbers the past few weeks or months definitely need to report this to the actual 800-WACHOVIA number.  I wonder just how aware they are of how their so-called "marketing partners" behave.  And if it is some kind of scam, they for sure need to be aware of that as well.

Just got a call from this number today...I'm glad I checked this site....fortunately, all robocalls are automatically disconnected by my telephone service. Comcast residential phone service is the one I use...these calls never get through....a blessing, even though the phone does ring, it disconnects after only one ring usually...

I have read all the posts for this number abd for 800-572-5848...this is what I am going to do....I am going to call them and tell them if they don't stop these stupid calls and put me on their do not call list, I am going to move all of my accounts to another bank...bet that will light a fire under them

this number is calling us 3 times a day including week-ends.  We do not answer it only because we have no contacts in Fla.  How do you get them to STOP calling!!!!  It is very annoying!

This is not a "fake" Wachovia number, it is actually marketing for Wachovia (now Wells Fargo). They are trying to sell you something on behalf of Wells Fargo. It is not a scam, just a sales call. And they ARE annoying, and they ARE persistent.

I got a call on my phone this AM @9:20. No message left. I AM a customer of Wachovia, but no indication that this call was from them Glad I checked here!!  Sounds "PHISHY"??

RW, Why don't they leave a msg??  If they call again, I am gonna take my account elsewhere!!
