STOP calling my #..

Probably a fundraising scam related to the H.S. shooting, based on location of the call.

got same call rang twice and disconnected, used work phone and called number back, is a scam phishing telemarketer call.
rep stated won $100.00 gift card for being a great shopper at one of their stores. I inquired which merchant that I supposedly shopped at, female rep stated wasnt important that all I needed to do was pay $9.99 for shipping of my $100.00 gas card and VERIFY MY ADDRESS AND VISA OR MASTERCARD #.

HOW FLIPPING STUPID DOES THIS BROAD THINK I AM, I TOLD HER TO TAKE THIS PHISHING SCAM AND SHOVE IT WHERE THE SUN NEVERSHINES AND DISCONNECTED THE CALL.


DO NOT GIVE OUT ANY INFO ESPECIALLY NAME ADDRESS AND CREDITCARD NUMBERS. DONT EVEN CALL BACK USING YOUR OWN PHONE, AS ONCE THESE SCUMBAGS HAVE YOUR INFO YOU ARE SCREWED!!!

Got this scam call today

Didn't leave any message.

I receive a phone call from this number, she told me that I'm precualified for something, jaja, if I didn't any application I said, then she hang up. Be careful is a scam. The police never know about this.

Caller id lists as: Srvc Call. Did not answer.

asked what kind of insurance I had & I told them through my job & she said I didn't qualify

Called I didn't answer - I always check caller ID before picking up.

What happens to this posting to solve the problem?

Called this morning and it went to voice mail.  Caller said she's Alice and then hung up.

Idiots keep calling me.

I always get these calks from card services day & night..so now I've called them back at least a hundred times..see if they like it... LOL HEEHAAAA HEEHAAAA LMFAO!!!

Well there is one huge flaw in  your line of reasoning.  You are wrongly "assuming" that the Caller ID is a true and honest depiction of the number calling you.  As we have proven numerous times on this site and supported by both government and BBB web sites, you can no longer depend on Caller ID to give the correct name and number of the party calling you.  Much like the criminals who use a mask to conceal their identity, these criminals use "spoofing" to conceal their true phone number and location.

So what does this mean?  While it is possible that you are indeed calling the party responsible, you are more apt to be calling an innocent party who had their telephone number "spoofed".  This means that should these people get upset (and I surely would) they can contact their phone carrier and the police and have you charged with some form of harassment by communications, which of course would be a criminal charge.  If this happens I feel you will no longer be laughing.

I just received a call from them
you are right about how they can conceal their ID.
so if the telephone companies have put in their systems the ability to hide your ID.
would that mean they are condoning this illegal  practice and they should be held liable for it.

Answered and it was a computer voice saying "Hello this is Alice how are you today?"

I sat silent, then the computer voice said "Hello are you there"

I remained silent. Call disconnected.

I got a call from this number with a scam now I call them frequently filling up their voice . Hope their for worst treatment thanks they could imagine

This number called me and I picked it up without looking at the number.  It was a call saying that I had been selected for a topical pain medication study.  I am sure it is a total scam to get information.  I will not be answering that number again

Received this call from 971-256-5559 today . It rang once then dropped the call. Sounds like another scam fisherman from other comments. Will not return the call. Recommend do not answer calling numbers you do not recognize. Always check the number on a website that has reports on such kinds of calls.
