caller id says DUMMYCOURSE no message  they hung up when I answered

I just got a phone call from DUMMYCOURSES.  no idea who they are!

Just got a call from this number said they wanted to talk to me about my credit card went on to say that everything was OK with but they wanted to talk to me about reducing my interest rate.  This is where I hung up,  it was recorded message.

Portland OR in the caller ID.  Caller ID has become useless.

Oooo they hang up on you fast.

Call is traced back to Multnomah County, Portland Oregon.

and no, their police don't seem to care about it

Didn't recognize the number from Portland OR so didn't answer the call. When answering machine clicked on, they hung up.

they called me and it racks up long distance minutes - not fair

Just got call from this number.  Didn't recognize name "Dummy Courses" or number "971 373 0141" so didn't answer.  No message left on my answering service.

Got a call, picked it up and it hung up on me after 3 seconds.

Same as some others.  Returned the call and got a fast busy signal.

I received a call from 971-373-0141 with the caller ID of "DUMMYCOURSES" today, with no message left.

On callback, I heard the following recorded message: "Hello, and thank you for calling back. You have received a marketing call from a commercial entity or its representative. If you would prefer to not receive calls from this organization in the future, press 1 at anytime to be added to this organization's do-not-call list." Upon pressing 1, the following message is played: "Thank you. Please allow 24 hours for this removal request to be processed. Have a nice day."

We'll see if pressing 1 actually does anything or not.

BTW, the recorded message was heard on my second & third dials. I got the fast busy signal on my first callback, just as a number of the above posters did.

The call from this number (DUMMYCOURSES) is an automated message about lowering your credit card rates.  I hung up.  I'm on the do-not-call list and don't like getting unsolicited calls.

If you listen to the whole recording it says Press 2 to stop notification.  

I pressed 2, was directed to the same operator anyways, told her to put me on their do not call list, she instead asked if I was sure I didn't want to lower my rate, and upon being firm that all I wanted was to be taken off their call list, she hung up on me.

I hate these people.

just got a call from this number telling me i was late on a payment.it was a recording,just hung up.they are wasting my cell phone minutes

They just called me as well. I didn't pick up the phone because the number qwas unfamiliar. Won't be picking up the call if they call again!!

Yeah I got that call it's about lowering interest rates on credit cards, they are phishing for info. When I asked where he was physically located, he lied and said Orlando and panicked and hung up when I asked for an address.
