Good question.  Because the number is registered as the carrier being Level 3 Communications, LLC -- MA.  Only they apparently got bought by Century Link a few years ago (wonder who finished paying the 7+ MILLION dollar fine for lying about laying fiberoptic cable along some MA highway a few years ago).  And Century Link supposedly is NOW owned by some company called Lumens Technology.  Wonder if Lumens realizes that a good chunk of Level 3's customers were apparently SPAMMERS.  Like the similar number "978-631-0495" which called me six times in a week and a half (alternating between coming up as "Potential Spam", the number only with no punctuation, and a completely blank caller ID field.

I've gotten four calls in less than a week from this number.  Never a message left (the first three times hung up or was blocked or was a robocaller which got some chump to pick up -- as if anyone in their right mind would pick up when it comes up as "Potential Spam" on the caller ID unless to prank the spammer.  A legitimate caller would NOT hide behind some random ID and then NOT leave a message.
