Number called and left a voicemail, woman said her last name was Thompson, claiming Federal Student Loan payment policies had changed and wanted a callback to a different number, obvious scam.

Just got this message as well, name was "Betty Thompson" and the phone number call back was 1-866-974-6260 for reference #70705. Definite scam.

Just got a call from Thompson lady about Federal student loan.  She ended the call with, uh um thank you.  Scam.

a while back student loans had a federal change to them. these guys called and left a message and I was thinking it was Navient(my loan provider). I called them back thinking I was talking to a Navient Rep. They didn't indicate what company they were working for when they answered. (should have been the first red flag). You don't find out who they are until you get put on hold and the message says something like "thanks for working with Student Loan America" after I heard that I hung up. They are shifty and predetory if you ask me!!

SCAM! do not answer. Should be reported to the Federal Trade Commission for fraud

I got a call but didn't answer it.  They didn't leave a message.  I get robo calls almost daily and some are those student loan calls.  I'm retired now and have never had a student loan.

I just received a voicemail from a lady name Betty Thompson who said she wanted to discuss my student loan repayment options. I'm glad I looked up the number first. She gave me the same reference number listed above 70705.

It's a telemarketer, so if you're registered on your state or the National Do Not Call list, then file a complaint against them.
